Lovely shine on that Matt (no contradiction intended :) ). And I spot an unpainted screwdriver on the bench  .

I'll probably be up all night again Matt....trying to work out what insomnia means?.....Question time again...

Is this a Gasoline/Kerosene model?. What is the Tank made from i.e. Brass or Steel.

I'll make sure to get that screwdriver painted ASAP!!   I,m a bit embarrassed  Richard, as I'll have to do some research, seeing as I'm unsure whether mine is a gas or kerosene model.  :hide:  The fuel tank is steel.

Wow!  A nice paint finish on the valve cover.. Well worth the hours you have put into it

Now hurry up and get that video done :D

Thanks Ian. I probably would have already had it running if my valves would show up. I called again yesterday, and they still haven't made my valves!  <_<  I really need to get a lathe!

I just finished looking threw the manual, and mine is a gas model. In the diagram below there are a lot of extra parts needed for Kerosene burning engines, and the mixer is completely different from mine.

My new decals showed up today!  :)  There is nothing that adds the finishing touches like new stickers. My new plug wire came in as well. After installing new points, and condensor, she has a nice blue spark jumping across the plug. I ordered the new ID tag from the same people I ordered my valves from, so no doubt it will still be a few days before it arrives. <_<  Here are a couple pics.  :)

Nice.

Well done Matt, looks great :coolphotos:

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.  I'm afraid I can't really go any further until I receive my order from Hit & Miss Enterprises. That will have my valves, ID tag, and gas tank.  Here is link to the place the parts are coming from. http://www.hitnmiss.com/index.html

While I wish they were a little quicker, I'm still grateful to find a place that makes reproduction parts for so many of these old engine. They have a good reputation for quality parts, but I'll find out first hand soon enough. I just wish the engine was running already.  :D

You shouldn't feel that way, most of us learn about what we're restoring as we go along.

The good thing is that much of the old/vintage or classic American made machinery has loads of databases, parts lists and manuals still available to learn from. That's why I like them. Sadly there isn't so much of that now, or it's hard to track down in the UK.

The Decals really finish it off and do the Engine justice. Also like the woven sheathing on the HT Lead.

My valves still haven't arrived, so its not running yet.  :banghead:  Hopefully soon. I did however pick up a reproduction cart to put under the engine, and I must say, its very nice to be able to move the engine around by myself!  :D  I'm very pleased with the cart, and it appears very well built.

Nice!

 Thanks, I appreciate it.

Superb job. The cart look's the part and I like the square headed bolts and nuts  .

Thanks Richard. I have two 5 gallon buckets full of antique nuts, and bolts that I use on my restorations. They come in very handy, and I have both the square head, and the thick hex head bolts. If I can avoid it, I don't use modern bolts on my old engines.

Well, I called the place that my valves are coming from, and my order has shipped!  :hdance:  They provided a tracking #, and it should be here tomorrow.  :fingerscrossed:  The order has my valves, gas tank, and reproduction ID tag.

My parts came in, and it runs!  :hdance:  I painted the gas tank, lapped the valves, and assembled it. The paint still isn't dry on the gas tank, so I used a jar with some fuel in it to start it. It started on the second try. I didn't run it very long, but once I have the tank back on it, I will. Here are a few pics, and I'll get a video soon.

I would love to have been there when she fired up Matt, love the ID tag and those rivetts, wow !

Thanks Chris. The rivets are the ones that came with the engine. They're actually just little brass nails, and although the original tag was broke off, these little rivets were still there, and I was able to remove them, without breaking them. Can't wait to get the gas tank back on it today.  :)

Looks really nice now. Good job.

Thanks Norm, I appreciate it.  :)

Alright, I have videos.  :D  I haven't been able to get it running quite right, and it turns out its missing some parts in the mixer. The compensation valve, spring, and pin.  <_<  There is just a little rusted off nub in there, so I'll be ordering the parts soon, and get it running properly. In the parts diagram below, you can see the parts I'm talking about. I'm still very happy it runs, and here are a couple video's, and pics.

Well done Matt, runs well, i see your dog made a hasty exit in the first video

Thanks Chris, and the dog didn't care for the loud popping of this engine.  :D  It will run better once I get the parts needed.
