Darmic1 447 #1 Posted January 23, 2014 Well, this is what I'm currently working on. (Its also on the other site) Here's what it looked like when I picked it up.
Darmic1 447 #2 Posted January 23, 2014 It had quite a few things wrong with it. The carb slider was completely seized, the wrong grass box and some one had been at it with the spanners.
Darmic1 447 #3 Posted January 23, 2014 After many hours and a few £££s spent, the Engine is finished, New bearings were sourced for the entire mower, a couple of spares were donated to the cause and some other parts were repaired, overhauled or completely remade. Darmic1 447 #4 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) The fuel tank was stripped, filler applied where needed and the grass box had a make over. The rest of the metal work was shot blasted and coated with an epoxy powder, ready for painting. Edited January 23, 2014 by Darmic1
Darmic1 447 #5 Posted January 23, 2014 Then the Atco green was applied, here's the tank and a few other bits all painted.
Darmic1 447 #6 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Then I discovered the earlier mentioned problem, the wrong grass box! S1G kindly sent me some pictures of how the box should fit, and so I set about modifying mine. Edited January 23, 2014 by Darmic1

Darmic1 447 #9 Posted January 24, 2014 Also had a very kind fellow invite me over to his workshop to make these new front rollers. Made from seasoned English Oak, once turned I inserted the brass and soaked them over night in a 50/50 mix of Linseed Oil and Turpentine.
