Stormin 4,458 #2 Posted June 22, 2016 Nice cars. I've had three Cortinas in the past. 1971 2 ltr estate. 1973 2 ltr saloon and a 1974 2 ltr GT. Nice to drive, comfortable and easy to work on.
Ian 2,417 #3 Posted June 22, 2016 Nice cars Matt, great condition.. Shame you sold the saloon.. Sooo, when's the 2.9 Cossie V6 going in the estate? My dad had a Mk3 Cortina estate years ago, 1.6L auto which was so slow!! I was also my dad's first automatic, it took him quite a while to remember not to push the clutch pedal down
moogie 372 #4 Posted June 22, 2016 My father had a pale blue 1976 16L mk3 Cortina with a mk4 interior. It was supposed to have been an end of line car and Ford ran out of mk3 interiors so used the new mk4. Whether or not that is true i dont know, but thats the story. pmackellow 2,738 #5 Posted June 22, 2016 My dad had a Cortina 2 litre Ghia Mark 5 as a company car in 1982, lovely car, as he worked for a Ford dealer he got rid of it and turned up one night in a Sierra !! 2 litre GL auto, went like the clappers but bloody ugly !! madmatt01 107 #6 Posted June 22, 2016 Have always been my favourite classic car. Sold the saloon to a friend local, and is now being used as a daily driver. I was going to put it into storage for a few years and tart it up a bit but decided just to concentrate on the estate... Plus the small fact the wife wanted a ride on! Can't have it all unfortunately but there we go Matt
