Ohlsson & Rice: Mechanix Illustrated - March 1962 Wonder Wheel

Recommended Posts

This may have been posted already but here is another featured O&R from 1962. Looks like the Wonder Wheel as well as some other scooters and yard equipment.

Nice find and no it hasn't been posted before, as google hasn't plagiarised the back issues of Mechanix Illustrated it's not easy to find out how many issues contain O&R articles.

Looks like the wheelbarrow, garden roller, cart, pedal car, lawnmower, cultivator & unicycle are all actually examples of possible uses for the 'Tiny Mite' powered wheel, which was made in eight, ten & twelve inch versions, with an optional extra fork or frame to use with equipment of your choice. They also sold the mini-scooter too.

Not sure I would like to try that unicycle at 17mph. :jaw:

That twin engined scooter looks, erm... interesting.

I wonder how they kept the two engines synchronised. :scratchhead:

I found another Mechanix Illustrated with O&R but haven’t bought my own copy yet. I’ll add photos once I do.

Yep, some of these applications are pretty interesting...

This was posted before on the old forum. It's still interesting.

We had a bunch of stuff and information there and wish I could've captured it all to move here before they shut us down.

Bunch of hacks over there at forumer so I'm glad Karl was nice enough to allow the O&R forum to move here.
