  1. Wow, only just came across this post again, Here's how the cub looks now
  2. Okay, thank you Neil, I must say to anyone that's interested in wheel horses and there history, if you haven't got yourself a copy, try to get one, it's a great read. Good pictures too.
  3. Hello, I must say the one I have is a great book, can anyone tell me.... I own a copy of (Straight from the horses mouth, the wheel horse story, final edition) is this any diffrent to the commemorative edition, if so, is there a lot of diffrence, it seems to have the same DVD etc, is it worth the buy if I already have the final edition? Many thanks
  4. Have managed to source a pulley as well now, so all shall be go go go! Just minor things to purchase now, paints, decals, thumb screws etc, all in good time
  5. Good news for now,...after a little tinker about and a few quid for a little few parts, fuel line, plug etc the little tecumseh h60 is now up and running, in top shape, sourced an air filter now just after a little pepper pot exhaust off the bay, Pulleys ayy, finding it difficult to source one the right size ATM.
  6. Hello Guys! I was wondering do any of you have a tecumseh air filter laying about that you wouldn't mind parting with? Cheers Charlie
  7. Anyone interested in these rims and tyres? Still plenty of life left In them, I believe they are tubed slight cracking to inside side wall,
  8. I have a policy with NFU, it covers third part fire and theft, it also covers goods in transit public liability etc, I have 2 tractors on this policy and it's £36.55 per tractor per year,
  9. Indeed, It know have a 6 hp tecumseh I shall update you all.. work should start this weekend,
  10. I have sent Paul a PM about his tecumseh 6hp he has, if everything's okay there hopefully I might get that.. If it needs work you say the parts are hard to come by? Hmm... Yes I've looked into some of the briggs engines, I'm waiting to hear back from Paul. I'll let you know how I get on

    Bedford TK

My Great Great Nan, Great Nan and Nan and so on.. all done pea pickin in kent Neil, and down here in Sussex well all over the place really they too have told me story's about riding in the back of old pick up's (bedford J types etc) and the old TK's I guess times was a lot different back then now a days seems you're not allowed to have fun! Haha. My uncle has a TK, currently undergoing a full restoration, he has hopes of showing it one day, there's a local iron yard here that still have a TK in service, lovely looking lorrys,
  12. I didn't want to ruin the 'look' of the tractor, by putting a modern engine up front... But then I remembered there was two boys over Netley Marsh show, they both had bolens huskey 800's and they had modern day honda engine in them which wasn't correct., once you do a full restore even down to the nuts and bolts I guess you don't really notice the engine.... Only the wheel horse mad lovers will notice and may think it's shameful to ruin such a machine with a new engine,.. Once it's fully restored I don't think the engine will look too out of place after all it is red.. And I know it's far from original, but the engine I have at the moment isn't original.. And it doesn't fit, so I would be bettering myself... What's your opinions...? Honest opinions please...
  13. It's a 1968 round hood model Paul, I didn't want something too modern, as don't want to ruin the 'looks' of the machine, it would be nice to find a little kohler k161 but I think I got a small chance, I think a lister D engine is proberly bigger then the whole tractor, haha a nice little Diesel engine wouldn't be too bad, I guess any engine won't be too bad as long as it fits and looks sensible I mean I could buy a modern day honda engine but it think it would look so out of place
  14. I'd like to get about To a few more shows next year and the following years, maybe people could also list there local show, and there faviroute show, either in here or start a new topic? Measums wise. I'd suggest amberly working museam. Either as it is or go when they hold there events, http://www.amberleymuseum.co.uk Show wise, I enjoyed 'Netley Marsh Steam and Crafts Show' Also my local show 'Laughton'. They hold two shows one in May and one in septmeber
  15. Hello Guys, The time has come, I'm going to finally start my restoration on my lawnranger, but before I can properly start.... I need the right engine... Or at least one that will fit... Does anyone know what the 'correct' engine was for this tractor? I guess being a wheel horse, it was most likely a kohler engine... I guess I won't find the correct one to put in there, the 12hp and + kohlers won't fit under the bonnet due to room... I've looked at the old single cylinder up right briggs and stratton and some of them are too tall to fit.... Hmmm where do I go next?
  16. Looking at the thickness of some of this metal, I'm thinking..... I wonder what this beast weighs? Have you a local weigh bridge that may be able to help? Would be interesting to find out the weight of this beast, Also.... Once back together and finished, it looks like time for a good old pressure wash, she looks abit dirty....
  17. I have mine, I have the website address vinyl on my trailer, and the others on my cubcadet and horse, I had the CubCadet at a show this weekend, down Hampshire way, (netley marsh steam and craft show) once I came out of the arena (being towed) :( someone come over and stopped me, and said hello blah blah blah, where did you get your sticker, I said what the hood decals, he said no I mean the my old machine sticker so I started to talk about the forum, I said you should join up, he said he was already a member, it turns out it was Ian, (grow bag) just goes to show that people do see/take note of the decals,
  18. Do you mean this photo? And I was taking a photo of the steam traction engine miniatures as they line up waiting to go into the arena. Never really looked at the photo properly until now haha
  19. Hello All, I was away for a long weekend this weekend just passed at netley marsh steam and craft show, (thursday-sunday) with my grandad and uncle, showing my cubcadet, and two wheel horses (C121's). it was my first time exhibiting here, I had been previous years but only for days out. It was a great weekend, a few little negative moments but that didn't stop us having a fantastic time and would defiantly visit next year. The weather was defiantly also on our side. Friday the satnav was reading 36 degrees everyone got a little sunburn. We had a few issues with the cubcadet one being it wasn't sparking traced it down, the plug wasn't sparking, took a good plug out one of the horses it still wouldn't spark, so looked at the coil, got the multi meters out...... Turns out the ignition switch had packed up, had to borrow one out the dash panel of the wheel horse where the light switch would be and put it onto the cub and it fired up straight away. I never got chance to take my tractor around the arena on friday or Saturday however I found the time on Sunday and joined in the tractor parade luckily I only just made it round. On entering the arena the clutch starting playing up the pedal started to stick wouldn't return back then it got worse when all of a sudden just as I passed the commentator box my clutch plate snapped up and threw it's self out all over the arena luckily there was a ratchet strap rope to hand, and I got towed back to the campsite. However I'm in the process of fixing the clutch now. So it's not a worry... I did bump into Andy and say a quick hello, I also managed to bump into Ian, (grow bag) that was nice seeing you both, Like a wally I forgot my phone charger, so didn't get many photos, but here's what I did get. Once arrived and set up we went for a cruise around the show ground If the beer tent wasn't enough, here's the hop on Inn (pub bus) This was brilliant, battery powered remote control. Steam engine non restored in its fully working clothes
  20. Chris, did your freinds cub look like this, this tractor should have the sprung seat so ignor the seat stand. But.... if it did, talk to your friend and try and make a deal, thats a cub cadet original. I only know of 4, I'm sure there are more but they seem quite hard to find.
  21. Here's my two machines wearing my old machine stickers with pride. CubCadet: WheelHorse:
  22. Hello All, As some of you will remember me and my grandfather made two cultivators late last year for the wheel horses, however I never really used it on my wheel horse as the snow plow frame and bracket is constantly attached, unless I chained it up, when I lowered the cultivator, the plow bracket would drop aswell, so I was bored over the weekend, and had some yellow paint left, I got to work, I had to cut some welds off, and widen the lifting arms, attach a few chains, and clips drill a few holes and a few coats of paint later it looked like this..... I doubt it will ever really work properly, only in the working arena at shows, it's now all ready for the show this weekend, Netley Marsh Steam And Craft Show.
  23. Sussex would be better for me, but that's just being greedy, I think it should be more west next year to even it out, it's been in Sussex, up north then down west etc
  24. Hello all, As some of you will remember I made a post back in February welcoming a new member into our family, young Tyler was born, (my Nephew) he was born premature weighing only 3lbs 8oz. My sister was told he would be slower adapting then normal children. He wouldn't start sitting up,crawling touching and grabbing things until over a year old.... well how wrong can they be, he is now sitting up and can support himself, he has starting holding things even better still hes starting to chuckle, so listening to the doctors they told my sister he wouldn't be able to do these things until he was over a year old, he is now nearly 6 months old, AND...... he had his first drive on a wheel horse today and he loved it, needless to say, when the little lawnranger is done and finished its a pretty safe bet who is going to claim that! heres a few pictures.... the photos don't do me any justice, but hey!!! And now.... 4 weeks old to 4 months old, how much hes grown.... hes even bigger now!
