Yes, funny lot these Americans. My number 2 son married an American about 18 years ago ( ex pen pal ) and now lives in Chickamauga, Georgia. After quite a few visits I have almost managed to understand the strange words, and even stranger habits, especially those of my sons daddy in law. He is as crazy as a coot. Luckily we are both tarred with the same brush so get along well, even though he doesn't talk properly.

The stash is located in Surrey. The front loader is buried out of sight at the back of a PACKED barn, so will be a quite a while before it see's the light of day.

Or with a plough behind "Why Not" and a heavy boot on the noise pedal.

If you have that many projects on the go, how can you find the time to watch your veggy's grow. Nice house and Yard. Plenty of room to play. A bit bigger than my postage stamp size garden. Just been staring at your veggy plot photo again, but can't see anything moving. Or is it me.?

Well, it's been a few days since the last post on the Bolens stash so I expect everyone has calmed down by now. Just before you nod off again, a little bit more news. I had a dig around at the Bolens, and other stuff graveyard, and took various photo's and details. As most of the tractors are well buried and boxed in decent photo's proved difficult to obtain. Need to clear a lot of clutter to move each tractor to a more suitable position. This will obviously take time. But fear not, the stash will live again. I hope to have a few in the "For Sale" ads very soon. Alan.

I use it about once a month to speak to family in the US. Sometimes good, other times a pig due to freezing. Picture quality and sound varies a lot.

I have just messaged the Mod's with creeping and crawling words so now await my fate. Good news, or bad, soon I hope.

HELP. ! After reading all the above posts I am a bit nervous that I might be flattened in the stampede at my about to be revealed news. Rapidly building armoured shelter right now. I know of approx 10 various Bolens which are about to be sold. These belong to a friend who is downsizing his property due to ill health etc. I believe I need to get the moderators permission first before saying too much as the owner is not on the forum or internet. Just as a starter there a two Ride a matics, the cast gold versions, various Husky's, a large frame Hydro which if I remember, is an 1177, plus, wait until I take cover, a Husky I think, with a front Hydraulic Loader. Also to be disposed of are approx 13 other garden tractors plus loads of other stuff. As said above, I think I need the go ahead from the mods before going too far, if I haven't done so already. Read through all 16 pages of this build last night, I had only seen some of the later posts since joining MOM, and am amazed that Bendy was built in such a short time. What with all the thinking, machining and doing there couldn't have been much time left for going to work etc. A brilliant piece of engineering.

Started off as a broken 4 wheel drive toy truck. The chassis was cut in half, the axle units forming the basis of each tractor. The wheels from the truck were used on the trailer. The tractor wheels were from another broken toy. Well, it was broken after I had butchered it. Radio controlled. Total length 30". Mainly made from plastic sheet, bits of brass and numerous odds and ends. The pivot moves in two directions, allowing articulation. Each tractor has it's own small electric motor, the radio gear and battery's are in the trailer. Not as powerful as I had hoped, but will climb over small lumpy bits. A pig to drive in reverse though, as the trailer decides it want's to do it's own thing. The name ALJO, is a combination of mine Alan, and my mate's John. GAR- DOE is meant to be a garden tractor size doe.. And in case anyone is wondering the 6V means 6 Volt. which is the drive power. Just needs a suitable sized driver.

My first car was a 1942 Austin 8 soft top, bought for £10 including a gallon size tin of body filler approx 1964. The roof leaked like a sieve. The wipers only worked when they felt like it. Started easier with the handle than on the button, but still managed to get up to Scotland and back on holiday with it. JUST. My girl friend, now wife, used to hate it when I collected her from work, as her work mates were picked up in more modern Consuls, Vauxhall's etc.

We do have a big problem in the UK with the small number of Bolens tractors available The pool of Bolens just got a little smaller Iain. I know of a pool of Bolen's which is NOT getting any smaller. YET. Alan.
