  1. Its engine related although the starter itself is seized, when I removed the cowling it all looked pretty grotty under there, I've cleaned it up as best as I can As the machine will be used for display only I'm not that worried (at this time) about getting it going Thanks for your comments gents
  2. The engine is dead solid so I have concentrated on making it look pretty, it's not come out too bad...
  3. Great, would like to see what machines you have !
  4. Welcome neons from the UK !! There's a following over here for these little engines as well, I would like to see photos of your collection, sounds very interesting !
  5. He must have been the apprentice who got sent to the stores for a long wait, a box of sparks for the grinder, a left handed screwdriver and a can of tartan paint !
  6. Tank has arrived, many thanks to Webhead Just need to get it looking the same as the blue one now...
  7. Just need the fuel tanks sorted out now, one on its way hopefully from Webhead, looking forward to getting both units complete
  8. Second unit back together this afternoon, decal arrived from the states today so that went straight on, the two units have not come up bad, quite pleased... Still a few bits to touch in but almost there.
  9. Is it one of these ?? Seen at the South Downs Heritage Centre today.
  10. Wendy and I went to the South Downs Garden Centre at Hassocks in West Sussex today. This is a well stocked garden centre with its own Heritage Centre and Lawn Mower Museum, today there was not only a display from a local stationary engine club but also the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run route went right past the entrance gates. Plenty to see today, old and new...
  11. The display certainly got a lot of interest, and will be bigger and better next time out
  12. Never did put a finished photo or two of this unit on here, here you go... Not quite finished yet, but not come out too bad...
  13. Yes, its certainly different but does not look like there was any writing around the edge of the decal... perhaps a simplified decal on the later machines ??
  14. Most of the crud has been cleaned off the unit, the decal has been removed in one piece (that was lucky) and sent to Titch at Machinery decals for replicas to be made... The crusty bits on the starter pull and cowling have been built up with Isopon and smoothed down to restore the original surface, early days yet... Chrome is bad so this unit will get the smooth silver Hammerite treatment as used on the Bridges drill units.
  15. Yes I get them from an ebay seller, jimenginedecals, they are very good
  16. Tinkering in the shed this afternoon, cowling on first drill now painted so that's back on with decals... Chrome on both units not saveable so I've used smooth silver Hammerite to smarten them up.
  17. That's what I thought That will be a great help
  18. Great, I've sent you a private message Webhead
  19. As part of my O&R collection I have a Little Wonder hedge trimmer with O&R power, also 12 volt and 240 volt versions. New additions are a period sign for the display and today another 30" blade hedge trimmer arrived with the later style of O&R engine in it...
  20. That's pretty close apart from the positioning of the filler cap and the brackets are on opposite sides... But yes it would be a brilliant start, are you willing to part with it please ??
  21. Ooh we do like a classic Ford !! That is gorgeous
  22. Fuel tank is off the second unit, hopefully a friend can make me a replica tank to go on the first one ...
  23. Here's mine and Darmics display at Newbury last month... This was before the arrival of the Bridges drills so the collection will be bigger next time out
