the showman 4,074 #51 Posted October 31, 2014 Is that for use without a gasket Norm ? the sump spose to be a machine fit but it don't The Duff-torq hydro is full of oil , so has to be a good seal !!
Stormin 4,458 #52 Posted October 31, 2014 I've used both without a gasket. Depends on the condition of mating faces. The Loctite is meant to be used without. If I'm doing a cover that may need taking off, say a tappet cover, I use a gasket stuck to the cover and grease the other side.
the showman 4,074 #53 Posted February 1, 2015 Spent a bit of time on this today, last time I had this out it developed a leak from the tranny, I dropped it out and resealed it with instant gasket but it was old and didnt cure so today I dropped it back out again
the showman 4,074 #54 Posted February 2, 2015 Been outside fetteling in the cold, I've removed the sump pan and cleaned all the surface and resealed it. All bolted back together and fitted back under the tractor, gonna give it a few days to cure before I refill it

the showman 4,074 #61 Posted February 8, 2015 Had a couple of hours spare this afternoon so filled the tranny with oil and got the tractor running again. Had it up on jack stands and purged the system through, all seems to be working fine, just got to wait now and see if I've cured the leak
