Lest we forget

Recommended Posts

At the going down of the sun is on my Fathers headstone and my twin uncles are buried at Arnhem.

how can I forget !

My late Godfather also served in the Paras at Arnhem but he was one of the few that evaded capture.

The sad thing is that the end of WW1 essentially started WW2 and that there has been conflicts ever since. I am always moved when I visited the War Graves and see the rows and rows of headstones and walking under the Memin Gate at Yyeps.

Just returned home from our local remembrance parade where nearly everyone in the crowd was reduced to tears when a young navy cadet girl read out a hymn whilst in floods of tears herself.

Was very moving & must confess I had tears rolling off my cheeks

My kids are learning about past war and conflicts and the human cost at school at the moment, which ensures that the next generation are just as aware
