My late Godfather also served in the Paras at Arnhem but he was one of the few that evaded capture. The sad thing is that the end of WW1 essentially started WW2 and that there has been conflicts ever since. I am always moved when I visited the War Graves and see the rows and rows of headstones and walking under the Memin Gate at Yyeps. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
neil 524 #4 Posted November 9, 2014 Just returned home from our local remembrance parade where nearly everyone in the crowd was reduced to tears when a young navy cadet girl read out a hymn whilst in floods of tears herself.
