westwood axle snapped

hi, iv got a westwood t1600 and the  back half shaft has snapped , does anyone know if the parts are readily availible (preferably second hand) or do i need to get busy with the mig welder??

You can get second hand parts but they are still quite pricey. You might be better off trying to find a second hand gearbox, also taking apart the hydrostatic transmission are not the easiest but can be done.

Look on eBay for member. Stuart1440 contact him he has always got them he breaks west woods I've bought quite a few from him any probes pm me and I will ring him

I think the wheels always get stuck on the shaft cos no one seems to copper slip them so they hit them with big hammers to get them off and it seems to fracture the shafts

i think the shafts are made to hard in the manufacturing process. this looks like a piece of snapped wood rather than a clean break..
