Alan 1,273 #1 Posted May 8, 2018 A very hot day at Popham yesterday. Lots of visitors. Long queue to get in although it moved quickly. As the title says, lots of cars of all descriptions, plus aero - auto jumble. The previous two days were mainly a Microlight fly in and trade fair. Lots of visitors coming and going by air on all three days. A selection of photo's as we all know you like photo's. A nice Mini and matching trailer. Note the kettle Mr Showman. My son and his wife wondering if this truck would fit in their drive. A little smaller. A nice model bicycle. Compare the size against the hacksaw blades. A pair of flying machines. And finally, the highlight of the day for us. My grand daughter went to console a nearby crying boy. Both about the same age. Almost instantly they both wandered off, holding hands, in the direction of a parked plane. Both sets of mummy's and daddy's following. It turned out that Theo wanted to show Kamila HIS plane. His dad had flown into Popham for the day. Kamila and her new boy friend had lots of fun flying it while photo's were taken. Theo's daddy didn't seem bothered that buttons were pressed, levers pulled or pushed, switches switched, and the control columns yanked about. He probably had to do a major reboot before taking off. 5 Triumph66, HeadExam, pmackellow and 2 others reacted to this

All boot and bonnet, or trunk and hood over the pond. A little bit on the thirsty side though. 23 hours ago, pmackellow said: Great photos Alan Plenty of American metal there for Mr Showman to go all dribbly over I'll have the Minor pickup please that looks well tidy ! You will have noticed how spotless the engine bay is too Paul. 1 pmackellow reacted to this
Triumph66 1,256 #9 Posted May 10, 2018 Fantastic photos and some cool looking vehicles there. I love that large silver truck. I have seen that Morris pickup a few years ago at Gaydon Heritage Centre but then it had a nice patinated burgundy paintjob at the time. I would still take it home though. 1 Alan reacted to this

I had a 1965 Continental with the suicide doors, burgundy with black vinyl roof, had a 430 engine, originally an automatic, but I matched a Ford 4 Speed top loader in it after the auto tranny went out. The high rear end gears and excessive weight didn't lend to explosive starts, but the power band was very smooth and efficient. A carb upgrade and 100 octane fuel allowed the 430 to produce over 350h hp.The looks I got when I dragged down the main street and shifted through the gears of that lumbering hunk was priceless. 1 Triumph66 reacted to this
