Name this Plough.

Picked this up at the weekend, anyone know what make it is ? .

   No idea, Chris. Most likely a walk behind. The depth/land wheel looks on the wrong side for behind a tractor?

Its a Brinly plough which is good news, I’m pleased with that,

I would agree looks like a Brinly but not as it came out the factory . Mean modified over the years i would say.

What You have is one third of the Wheelhorse implement package, Plough, Discs and Cultivator assemblies which all use the same mounting beam. I have the other two thirds, I'm missing the plough. Have a look in the Wheelhorse magazine 1981 on Red Square, it shows the setup.

The clevis part on the front can be fitted in either of two positions,  one way up it's square to the beam for the discs or cultivator, or turned over it is at the correct angle for ploughing use.

The furrow wheel looks to be an addition, it's not shown in the original pictures.

That’s great Doug and nice to hear from you, it’s good to see a photo of one as I haven’t been able to find anything on google about it.

given me all sorts of ideas now.

That explains why some of it is red.

I have the mouldboard and adjuster but no bracket or coulter for one of these, perhaps your missing plough

  I think you have discs? All you need now is a genuine cultivator. You could modify a clevis hitch if you have a spare?

Mid-day update, I’ve replaced all the bolts with the right size, made a temporary hitch so i can mount it on my Raider 12 and  cleaned some of the rust off with a grinder.

I see how it works over the weekend, i can always use my old faithful.

In haste i made a quick hitch on Friday just to try it in the ground, it dug in well but had a lot of sideways movement so I decided to make a new one but only had the photos of above to go on.

Just using some scrap bits of angle iron and a lump of plate, drill and welder this is what i came up with.

I like that. The way you can move it in or out. I need to make a clevis hitch and do something similar.

Just out of interest I thought I would weigh the ploughs, the Auto-cults is 26 kg, the Brinly is 32 kg and the depth wheel is 6 kg.

  I was going to weigh mine, but they're right back behind the tractors. Plus I got side tracked with a trailer load of wood and a green to mow.

As it’s a Wheelhorse tool bar i thought I’d make a cultivator from some junk I’ve got in the shed
