3 pointsYou mean this one, it was just delivered about 30 minutes ago Unfortunately it did not come with a tank mounting bracket or air cleaner. Otherwise it is fresh NOS. Also found the warranty card and operation pages hidden away in the box. The engine itself was wrapped in the comics section of the newspaper dated Dec 1959.

1 pointI've seen three pan head screws* fitted to several Model J engines and my Model F engine, they are shorter so they don't stick out above the four mounting points, for when the gearbox is attached to a metal plate. *Part no #26-47, three fitted according to the parts list. David

1 pointWell it can't be earlier than August 1960 as the gearbox models weren't available then (plus no mention of Ultra before Compact anywhere), I suspect the original purchaser/owner re-packed it with that newspaper. All the paperwork should have dates in the bottom left corner too, like this from the August 1961 engine price list. David

1 pointNo I don't have the number on the one I used . But from past experience just because the bearing number is 6001 that doesn't mean all the measurements are all the same. been there done that before

After seeing CNews fantastic mower project it got me thinking... I had a spare O&R engine in stock and a very sad looking Nash Boadicea mower with a tired JAP 34 on it... It's not finished yet, just a bit of fun using what bits I have in stock... -

All the stickers in place, I'm waiting for a painted engine.
