Sorry for the clanking but im trying to
clean out all the set Concrete from
inside the drum. Its hunting a little in the
videos, in order to improve the running
I was going to order a new needle and
seat plus a governor spring, unless
    anyone has any other thoughts?

I purchased an anvil years ago, believe it or not was at
a car boot sale. Big heavy bugger aswell! It took a lot to
carry it back to the carpark.

Last year I made a forge out a gas bottle we had laying around, i've made a few little things but nothing of much significance so I thought i'd make some shelf brackets.

Slight cuts were put in them so I could bend them in the same place.

All the components before bending, not bad to say they were done by eye

Above the photo shows them with all the welding complete and a coating of wax.

And the finished thing, the screws will get replaced eventually with black ones.

Thanks My mum has already commissioned some, quite a challenge to make without a proper anvil.

I've got an anvil. May make a forge one day.

The tube going under on yours and the extension lead, make me think there's a fan somewhere.

I keep looking at anvils but they seem to be expensive, yes i've got an air bed pump thats rigged up to it, works well in my opinion

That sounds like a good plan, i'll have a look around when I get back from my holiday!
But today I thought I would address my concerns about the exhaust sticking out too far forward and above the rope pull...... I had an old Villiers exhaust which had at some point been snapped and brazed back together using 22mm copper plumbing pipe? This had of course been severely flattened and bent! So I cut away the copper and removed 95% off the braze! Only to find the can of the pepperpot was seriously holed with rust!. I spent an hour spot welding the holes and chasing them around!!! Eventually I managed to repair the can satisfactory and then set to welding a new tube and flange back on. Next was to figure out how to mount the front of the exhaust as the inside and threaded mount had corroded away. For this I used another short piece of tube, in which I drilled 8mm holes all around to allow exhaust gases out into the can. I then welded a captive bolt in the end to secure the pepperpot cover. I then splayed the other end and welded that into the can. Once fully welded up I cleaned off the remaining rust and weld splatter before painting with VHT exhaust paint......

After the paint had dried, I bolted it on an ran the engine to 'cure' the exhaust paint...... It sounds fine and heres just a short video.....

Been having a busy day with the wire brush in the
grinder. Due to the rheumatism in my hands I can
only use it in short bursts. Plus with the heat today
there was smoke coming out of it at the end!
The annoying thing is it only takes seconds and a
bucket of water to remove the concrete when wet,
yet Ive hours ahead of me.
Been speaking to Titch and he reckons itll be no
problem to reproduce some decals, and ive found
a source of Belle Orange paint.
I thought i'd try emailing Belle to see if they could
give me any information about its age etc, but
typical of a lot of big companies they didn't
even bother responding after nearly a fortnight!

I just noticed that BT had sneaked my bill up to £46.00, so I gave them a call and asked them what's the best price they could do, to begin with they said £40.00 was the very best, so I told them to cancel it, the next thing you know they dropped to £26.00, result. That's a saving of £240 a year! Next I guess I'll have a go at the electric company!

Im with bt, they really hacked me off too, so I got them to halve the line rental.
The only good thing about being with bt is if there is a persistant fault then you
can remind them that they own the line so insist that they sort it out.
Prior to this I was with EE, I definatley wouldn't use them again! Kept telling me
the fault was in my house and they wanted to charge me £100 to come out. Bt
eventually tracked the fault down to the exchange but this took them 3 months!

Bit more progress today, found some suitable u-shaped brackets to secure the axles into place. I then fitted the wheels and greased them up. Next job was to find some suitable material for mounting everything on......Couldn't find any 4mm steel sheet local, but was offered some 4mm Aluminium...... It looks very nice etc..... But not convinced it will stay that way and it will make it more difficult mounting the alternator brackets on......... as i'm unable to tig weld......
Also fitted the ID plate kindly donated by Chris, etched with the engine numbers too!

Have been busy the last couple of weeks but have been making some progress with this project. I had some off cuts of timber left over from a job, ideal to make into the trolley for the Villiers...... Also found a company selling small cast wheels for a few pounds each....... Wheels and trolley are almost ready for the engine to be bolted on!

Just to let you know I followed all your advice regrinding both valves, decoking the head, replacing the plug, diaphragm and gaskets. The mower now starts easily and as soon as the new belt and blades arrive I hope to put it to work.

Where I started work there was a fibreglass department. The moulds were made of wood  and smeared with silicone grease I think. It was a while ago.
Another way would be to make a mould using the original as a mould for the mould. If you follow me.

    Hi all,

Before I start I would like to say I am more or less a fibreglass novice, I have done some basic car body repair jobs before but nothing fancy, and this is just for fun. I do not claim to be a master fibreglass worker/molder or even a good one

However I wanted to see if I could build a Westwood grille (the type that was used from the Gazelle to the early T and D series tractors). These grilles look pretty cool in my opinion and I wanted to see if I could recreate one out of fibreglass. So I needed a mold, and given I have lots of amateur experience with concrete I decided there's no kill like overkill and I would use that for the mold (cast?).

So to start off I needed to use a spare grille I have as a base, and I covered it in tin foil with pritt-stick. I am happy to say this resulted in no damage to the grille after I removed it.

Then it was time to build up the concrete mold, using a mixture of 4 parts sharp sand, and 1 part cement powder, and using screws and nails and scrap metal to increase the strength.

The mold is now finished, and I will post a picture of it below.

And here is the finished mold, I will begin the fibreglassing process soon.

Before I begin the fibreglass build I wondered if anyone had any suggestions on how to stop it sticking the the mold. I have fibreglass releasing wax, does anyone know if this should be adequate?
