Hi. I no longer have the engine . But it was running lovely when I sold it. I got a manual for it from Paul at martens as people have said and some parts too. I hope he can help you out
-
Thanks for that Alan. Great pictures. Shame you don't know where it is. Like people are saying, I expect you can find it through the dvla. On the plus side I can't comment on you and the hair

I have two. a ts model with a villiers mk 15 four stroke engine.I prefer the four stroke as found the two strokes get tempremental when hot. Only problem I find is there is no adjustment to the handles and im tall so tend to stoop when using it. The second one I have was chris's on here which is a junior model. The blades only eighteen inches long, powered by a four stroke jap engine.
Nice machines but you know when you've used one. They shake your fillings out.

Hi all. Just a update on the scythe I got from Chris. I have got the engine all up and running also the spare one is running. They both just need painting now. New blades are fitted, new tubes in tyres and all parts under coated. Have spoke about getting decals/transfers for the wheels as Allen Oxford was painted on these and not a raised casting like on my ts model. Will put some pics up soon. Paul

No Paul I haven't heard from him yet

Hi All

That is good, like you say its amazing what people can do. I quite often go to the New Forest show and watch the axe men where you see them carving totem poles with chainsaws. Great to watch.

I like that a lot.
I have refurbed a few of them with my dad and that one looks great, even better now the right way up, I meant the picture not the tractor.

Hi All
Got this yesterday. A Allen & Simmonds horti culto with four sets of blades and a spare set of wheels. It has a Villiers mk7 engine on it but no spark as yet. Any info on these machines would be great as I have never seen one.

Guess what! It took some time but I have come across the holder for the above taps I mentioned. It is soaking in diesel at the moment, I will have a go at getting it working tomorrow then post some pics of it.

Yes Stormin it does slide to one side to lift the breather out which sits in a slot like a slide to let the oil go into the cavity by the valve guides which is where the oil seeps down. You learn something new everyday. If I get bored tomorrow I may sharpen some drill bits.

Hi All, The BSA is now finished and powering a bench grinder. Just got to sort some decals and a proper base.

Hi All,
Guess what. There was no filler plug or crankcase breather above the dipstick, if you take the rocker cover off and valve breather, there is a trough where the valve push rods are, you fill that and it seeps down the side of the guides, quite quickly as well. So that's that problem sorted. (next)
Forgot to say WELL DONE Stormin you were right
