OK, went for the crazy daredevil ride of a lifetime. Check out the risky off roading over the grass!
Youtube was a pita so shortened it to copy directly. Hopefully you guys can view the video but let me know if you can't.
Just threw some stuff on it so I could ride it and thought it would be funny. Still have lots to do but doubtful I'll ride it after it's done and painted.
Now it's Terry's turn for that skateboard

Had some traction issue with the friction wheel. I'll figure out how to crank that down so it bites into the tire better. You can see it peeling the tire in the pic with all that black on the frame.

I use one of these Olfa circle cutters. For a couple gaskets here and there it actually does quite well, especially for the price.

The tank on your Drillgine seems to have the missing part from the second line of the Orion decal.

    Looking a couple of decals & piecing together the surviving parts, I think this it the full decal (not 100% sure on Associates);

I bought this drill thinking it was a Drillgine, but after looking at the Comet pump thread this morning, I'm now thinking it is a Comet.  I'm wondering if it is complete, as it has no throttle or governor speed selector on it.  It appears near new, and was found in the attic of an old hardware store that was liquidated.  This is the condition as I received it.   Looking for some expert opinions!

My first O & R chainsaw project had the same wire pinch with corresponding results.  I used liquid tape and routed it properly.

Forgot to comment on that decal. Never saw one like that and the word "INDUSTRIAL" is quite comical. Those carbs are anything but industrial.

Since these little bikes are so rare and don't come up for sale very often, I decided to build a repop. Doubtful I would spend the money these things get even when they do show up for sale, so this is most likely the only way to add one to the collection.
Bending the pipe looked pretty easy to begin with but I had to do quite a few just to get twins of each. Making a template and making a better bender would be much easier to reproduce exact copies but since I don't have exact dimensions except for some basic height and length, making templates is too difficult to scale the size from pics. Once I get exact dimensions of certain points from an original maybe I can make a bender and a template to achieve a more accurate reproduction. So for now it was lots of back and forth referencing pics and lots of guessing, this came out fairly close but think the seat needs to move forward. It took a few tries to get a tool made for doing the flat ends of the pipe where the wheels mount too so they look right.
It's was being worked on for the last few weeks here and there and I stop whenever I hit a road block but get back to it later with fresh eyes and typically a new approach will work out. Got to this point today which is enough to post some pics. Think the handle bars are a bit too wide as they are but intentionally left them long since they can always be cut.

Banana seat caused some headaches with bending twins. The original flat seat would be much easier.

Getting ready to weld the engine support.

Threw on a recoil so it looks more O&R and set a tank on there. The O&R tank will probably stay instead of a larger original type tank

And here's what it's supposed to represent

Fishnuts2 got a reaction from pmackellow in Lancaster saw with 13B engine restoration
I found this stray on ebay and got it running and cutting again.  I didn't have much hope for the bar and chain, but I tried soaking it in vinegar for 48 hrs. and was very happy with the results.  Here are a couple of pics of the new addition.

I'd like to paint the right side cover like the other parts, but have to figure out a way to save the decals.  I also need to make or buy the exhaust extension to mount the muffler.  It's very loud without it,  to say the least!

I recently purchased this 1967 Drillgine. It’s in good condition. But I haven’t been able to get it running. It seems to be getting intermittent spark and I found the primer pump was plugged. The fuel inlet to the pump was plugged. The diaphragm is hard and distorted. I don’t have any instructions or diagrams to work from.

Been working a lot this week just found some time to work on my saw . Made a cardboard stencil  of a cover then cut it out of some tin.
Then brazed it together a little sanding and I have a cover. came out ok for the first one. now I might need to paint the rest.

A large box of goodies arrived today from Wallfish in the USA, one and a half Tiny Tiger generators.

With the "spare" engine I had with the correct fittings and having a look in the O&R spares stock, I managed to attach generator to engine.

I was going to make up a base but as I don't have the correct tank I might leave it on the base its on for now...

The second unit needs an exhaust, anyone got a spare one please ?

Both units now on display with their buddies, lol

Thought I would add a couple more photos in different lighting. When I looked at it his morning without the lights on it actually looked much better for taking pictures. I think these show the yellow much better- it has just the right hint of red in it.

It’s been a slow project but finally on the home stretch. A big THANKS to Wallfish for getting me going with the bones of this really cool saw. With his advice I was able to harvest an engine and a few other parts from an old Orline Mustang. Original paint was too far gone for a refresh so it was time for a complete restoration. Webhead is fixing me up with a hook screw for the muffler since this saw has the little exhaust collector extension and it needs to be about 3” long.  I was able to find some cable conduit in the right diameter and made a new throttle cable for it.  Hopefully when Titch has some time maybe he can get a decal made up as the finishing touch.
I had forgotten about the bark rest piece until Wallfish reminded me and of course I’d already finished painting everything else so that piece is late to the game but drying now (it’s already 104 in AZ so dry time should be faster). Finding a good paint match was a bit more challenging than I thought it would be, must have gone through about four different reds and 6 yellows but I think I landed on a pretty good match all said and done. Yellow is really hard...

Fishnuts2 reacted to Wallfish in Straight shaft with clutch
Had this "gearbox" straight shaft around for a while. Pretty rare item since this is the only one I've seen so far.  I wanted to put this on one of the early engines for a display of a model L setup. Unfortunately it uses the old cork style clutch which need the taper shaft with the 2 key ways in it, and the engines I have don't have the key way slots, just tapered. Of course I completely went through the one engine first before noticing that. The engine had a completely round 1/2" shaft on it, without any flat. Don't remember ever seeing one of those before either but maybe they could be more common.
Had it apart to clean anyway so just thought some pics would be good.

This probably isn’t new to anyone but I thought I would share a handy tool for removing the cylinder head on an O&R. A good old drag link socket makes a perfect tool for this. I have this one that is about 3/16” thick and 1 1/16” wide.
