Nice, those are elaborate compared to the Murry and other brand pedal cars here in the US during the 50-60s.

I haven’t been successful yet finding this type of seal in the unusual sizes for the O&R but will keep hunting, that’s part of the fun!

I may have to give an o-ring a try.  What about the shaft seal just behind this one that is inside the housing in the groove, can an o-ring be used successfully there?

Stumbled across this French site and thought it was a pretty cool little car. Scroll through the photos (pic 8/8) and you’ll see it’s powered by an O&R.

Cool, forgot about that parts engine - nice! I’m assuming a full carburetor overhaul will be in order at some point. I don’t know the condition of the reed valves yet. I probably won’t be tearing into this engine anytime soon but wanted to start getting a jump on likely parts.  I see some Walbro HDC repair kits on eBay (part# K10-HDC) but I can’t figure out if they will work on the HDC 6 carb.

     Curious if anyone on this chain discussing the Mark II chainsaw has ever ended up rebuilding the HDC 6 carburetor. If so, did you buy a repair kit and do you have the part number?  I’ve done some research for the HDC 6 carburetor and all I’m coming up with is a repair kit number of K10-HDC and wondering if this will work.

Has anyone successfully replaced this little rubber shaft seal (flywheel side) with an O-ring?

Great idea, that should be pretty easy to do on a lathe - didnt think of that....

I wish I had a trip planned to the east coast with a way to haul everything!

Interesting, I haven’t seen one with a blue starter housing before. I think I’ve seen ones with yellow or white.  Can’t wait to see photos once it arrives!

Was it the one from Massachusetts that had the red starter cover, white handle and blue shaft? If so, I was trying to win that one as well but the seller wouldn’t get back to me on my question about shipping with the Buy it Now option. I attempted the Buy it Now a few times and it wasn’t working correctly. Looks like you were able to get it to work.  I was quite frustrated and bummed but at least now I know it’s going to a good home, congrats!

Would be interested in buying an early style O&R pull knob that is brown and has the little wood extension vs just the ball f anyone has an extra that isn’t needed. I would also consider a black one but brown is preferred.

Cool!  It’s funny, the Tiny Tiger generators seem to be one of the more common O&R tools and yet I still don’t have one in my growing collection. Some day...

FYI, I just bought an original 1971 Keene Engineering prospecting catalog that shows the Model 1501.  I’ll try to scan some photos when it arrives.
