  1. Look forward to seeing those photos Chris. It's a great little machine the 600 is.
  2. Yes and this time he got a got a bit of wood! Good stack of fire wood for next season Chris.
  3. Good to see a brace of GT 14 in action. What your plans for it Nigel?
  4. I agree Iain that the colour on the engine is the correct one and it will be interesting to see if you can get a match on that. I was thinking if my 600 is the same gold as the RAM? Hopefully the roll pin you ordered will be the rebirth of this RAM. i will be watching this post with interest.
  5. I like that oiled patinated look Chris. I am doing the same on some of my tractors but with Owatrol though.

    Mustang

Nice Mustang and I like the old Ford Pick Up as well.
  7. I do have a sleeve hitch with my 600. I can't recall if I have the lever for it but will check as I need to clean up/ de rust my Brinly plough anyway. If I do I can co pare the length with the other one. You got a good one there Chris and hopefully I will see it in the metal one day when I am back in Sussex.
  8. Rusty? More like Basket Case! in your hands, it will be a great example.
  9. I will post up derails of the sleeve hitch Chris. I know Chris Stoneman got one that you could see & take details?
  10. a Bolens 600 That's a great find Chris and with wheel weights too Yes wheels should be white and I think yours was gold at one time if you look closely at the photo of the rear axle. I can't make out the serial # but that will confirm date etc. Enjoy!
  11. Great video Joseph. Who that old geezer driving your RAM towards the end of the video? Whoever, he is, you better show him how to treat your tractor with respect! Looking forward to more videos from you guys
  12. Good to see something different Harry. I am sure Chris will be able to cast his mechanical eye over it!
  13. Lovely restoration Alan. Be great if you could see it again and pass on your photographic records to the current owner.
  14. I think the Panzer is a great little tractor and I very nearly bought one in New York State to be imported back here to the UK. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Iain. Next job is to get it to my other place so I can fire it up and actually drive it about the field. Hopefully do that in a few weeks time..... A video of this will be taken......

Another update. Chris arrived with his mate Paul this morning after collecting an item near me. My main concern was getting the tractor off the pallet which we did with a bit of juggling. I was mightily relieved that it all went to plan. The next job was to see if we could fire up the old girl. The oil was drained as was the fuel tank for shipping. Fresh oil was poured in and the oil filter changed as was the transmission oil (which wasn't too rank looking) and filter. Chris poured in 8 litres og hydro oil as we could not check the level due to a broken hydro dipstick. I poured in fresh petrol with a Briggs and Stratton Fuel Fix additive. The battery was hooked up and with a turn of the ignition bought the engine to life. The noise was deafening in the garage with very little smoke which gradually disappeared as it warmed up. There was a bit of hunting which Chris adjusted to factory settings. Due to where the lockup is, we both felt we couldn't do a test run. The hunting is still there but can be tweaked when the engine is warm. We jacked up the rear to see if the wheel turns ok and thankfully they did. I need a few things on my shopping list including a new dipstick for the hydro, plus an air filter (on order), fuel lines as the old ones are hard, battery leads and clamps, condenser, tinware, new wiring loom etc. I am really chuffed with it and as Rick said it is a 'good fixer upper'.I have added two videos I hope. The first one is when it fired up the first time and the second is Chris tweaking the hunting. I have included a photo of the battered hydro filter. I am very grateful to have Chris and his friend Paul helping me out on this project. In fact Chris is hoping to come down again to carry on with a bit more work on the HT20 when he can fit in in between his Bolens, family and work. Also thanks to Iain ffor his arcane knowledge on these LFs and Rick for agreeing to source the tinware for the engine etc. Always great to see a fellow Bolens enthusiast willing to help out
  17. Thanks Iain, that does make sense. Great photo of those two together.
  18. Just been looking at your HT20 again Iain. Is there any significant differences between the HT20 and Ht23 apart from the horse power?
  19. Fabulous photo! i wonder what that trailer load weighs?
  20. Look forward to seeing this project come to fruition. If anyone can do it , you're the man Ewan
  21. Those tri ribs really set off the RAM perfectly I do like that style of RAM. That's next in my list one day.

    Bolens HT20

Thanks Joseph. I should have included you Joseph as well as your Dad and Chris! Hey Joseph, when's your Dad going to get his own Large Frame as I know you got two yourself

    Bolens HT20

Certainly will Iain. I am not sure who's more excited. Me, you or Chris? i have only seen Chris's 1886 and his Ht23 and I know you both said it much bigger and heavier than a TF, I was still caught unawares. Especially when I compared it to the 850

    Bolens HT20

I must admit Harry I thought that too but I think it's intact though absolutely dented and battered to buggery A deliberate spelling mistake and a visible security detereance to deter thieves.
