I thought I would upload some photos of my HIlux showing the MOM sticker.
-
Nigel, just one word... superb!
-
Iain,
I like the Father Christmas on the Bolens; a good choice of transport over the reindeers.....
-
Iain,
i am on the lookout for a larger Bolens tractor to ensure that the mower look better than your!
Cheers

Many thanks Chris; looking forward to seeing the photos. Cheers Andrew.

Thanks Chris, looking forward to seeing them. I be interested to know where your mate, Mark, get his parts to run his Bolens from.
Cheers

I have caused quite a stir on the U.S. forums, namely GTtalk, with the Howard Bolens Cylinder Mower attachment. It seem that they have not come across this type of rear PTO driven cylinder (reel) before. I have been asked to take some detailed measurements and take better photos of it for the archives!

Iain,
I am really pleased I got the LK though I wish the lady was also part of the deal!
I have been contacted from a fellow US LK owner who offered some help on sourcing elusive parts for the LK. He was amazed that Bolens sold them over here. I will tell him that there are at least 2 in the UK that I am aware of (Chris' mate).
I have to say what really persuaded me to buy it was the captivating plastic garden seat!
Daniel,
Yes that's the one.
I have attended some assertiveness courses recently to assert my authority with the missus. I am plucking up the courage to tell her.......
-
Chris, I wonder if your mate would post some photos of his LK so that I have something to work off? Be very interested in seeing a UK one anyway. Cheers

Norman, there are essentially 3 classes, the lawn keeper, the estate keeper and the ground keeper. I think the Google images show the estate keeper and the lawn keeper in the same series of photos. Mine is the smaller one if that make sense. The estate keeper has a bigger engine at the rear and can accommodate a larger mowing deck on the front whilst the lawn keeper has the smaller set up.

Apparently it's turning circle is epic. This Bolens Bug is driving me around the bends.....
-
Thanks Iain. Hopefully over the Christmas Period as it is up in North Devon. It's a funky looking thing.

It happened again, I got first dibs on a mid 60s Bolens Lawn Keeper. This is the one that pivots in the middle. It looks to be solid but the seller recently scrapped the mowing deck (ouch!) which is frustrating to say the least. I need to find an original engine to replace the modern one installed or at least a more appropriate style one and to replace the seat as well. I would love to get a front mounted deck for it but that will be very hard to source. The good news is that it's up and running. It's local to me ( for once!) and as usual I will post some photos of it when I get it back home. These are rare in the US and are even rarer in the UK and I felt it needed saving.

That welding look damn good.
At the rate you're knocking it out, do you think you will have this 'on the road' for the summer?
-
Ian, very impressed with your progress, there's no stopping you now. Also enjoyed the video too.
-
No contest; it's Ian.
Tractor looking good by the way Nigel
-
That's a cool looking bike. I wouldn't mind having one of those.
-
A very interesting and unusual tool. If it was on a long handled pole it would be more useful for the operator. Thanks for posting.
-
Congratulations Chris on the safe arrival of your baby. Well done to all 3 of you.
There's another Bolens enthusiast in the making
-
It's good to see it up and running. The Diesel engine will make a noticeable difference.
-
That look a sturdy set of wheels/ tyres on your 1886.
-
Nice looking tractor that. Enjoy the restoration and keep us informed.
-
Ian, PWN? is looking good. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
-
