Thanks for posting this one, never saw it on ebay, I'm convinced some non UK items don't show over here, even if I look on the ebay US site.
They must have been offered a lot to end early with bids from 7 different people, ebay now discourage ending items early over here and may even charge fees if it had bids.

From the O&R 20A manual;
Points gap is 0.015" to 0.018"
Coil to flywheel gap is 0.010"
Spark plug gap is 0.025"
The ESA 1973 parts manual gives the spark plug gap as 0.030"

I have scanned the pages from the model 20A maintenance manual that cover the carb, hope it helps.

Here is a advert from 1973 found online that has two O&R powered Lancaster chainsaws, the 20SLA Automatic that Lee has and the 15SLA Mini Automatic that I have.
Also attached are some pictures of my smaller Lancaster 15SLA Mini Automatic with the 13B engine. The air filter is different to the standard ones fitted to O&R's, also the instructions aren't quite right as the chain oiler is automatic.

The O&R part no. for the rings used on the Model 20A engine is 200023.
Don't forget to clean out the remains of the air filter, as they disintegrate just as well as the earlier engines.

They do seem quite rare, I had also only seem one other sell in the US and another that sold in South Africa in 2013 here;
http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/89694683/1962_PETROL_POWERED_DRILLING_MACHINE_Chug_A_Drill.html
I did a google search for "Chug-A-Drill" this evening, there were only 8 results, including one that didn't sell for $1000!!!
Also found was a new looking 1HP Almico branded one (still has Petro cast into the handle), someone definitely got a bargain; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gasoline-powered-Drill-/221729491998 its so nice I've added some pictures of it before they disappear.
.
Lastly an article from 1962 in Desert Magazine, on page 6 from here http://dezertmagazine.com/mine/1962DM07/files/196207-desertmagazine-1962-july.pdf
Sounds like a good idea, it will probably be tin though, it may be possible to solder on a brass band to overlap the join.

Another UK find that I bought earlier this year, seems to be the remains of a Chug-A Saw, sadly the seller didn't have any other bits of it. The engine serial no. is within 1000 of the two Chug-A-Drills I have.

Spare used or new old stock tanks for Ohlsson & Rice engine seem to be a rare as hen's teeth, has anyone ever had any new tanks made? Or found anything similar & easier to find that would fit?
David

A rare find in the UK, a pair of Petro Chug-A-Drills, I was going to put these in the other Chug-A-Drill thread but they are not yet restored. Unfortunately there is only one tank between the two & it's badly crushed! No other damage though and both are free to turn over.

Here is part of an ad for the early Amp Champ that I found here;

I should have spotted that!!! I guess the military got bored with removing the serial numbers from all of them.
David
-
Has yours still got the serial number on the engine or has it been ground off like mine? They left the engine type on the over side though (type 122).
David
-
Not mine and not really an unknown application, but it is a mystery what the rest of it looks like. Its the engine with part of the gearbox from a Brush Klipper.
David
-
I was surprised finding them in there, it just looked like a bit of mud or dirt had got in through the spark plug hole before I removed the cylinder.
And as I thought it was seized I poured a little oil & left it overnight, which is why they are discoloured. Here is another picture of a couple more and the mess they made of the spark plug I fitted!

The hedge trimmer is resting on the remains of a buoy which is part rusted through, there is a ring welded to the top and another on the side.
It took quite a while to find a nut that would fit the switch, I eventually found one on a US made switch. Here are some pictures following cleaning.

The mystery hedge trimmer from this post is a Teles.
http://myoldmachine.com/topic/240-ohlsson-rice-or-engine-powered-tools/?p=8079
I have recently acquired one, it is very similar to the Orline hedge trimmer but with extra mounting holes at the back of the gearbox, the top handle cannot be fitted there though as its bolts to the engine and also contains the stop switch. The Teles name is cast as raised letters into the bottom cover.
Here are some pictures of before cleaning.
The spark plug was missing when acquired and the engine appeared to be stuck, lucky this turned out to be the magneto coil being stuck to the flywheel magnets. I also had to remove the cylinder to evict some livestock! Anyone know what they are?
David
-
It does have the petrol tank, the base under the engine is the tank.
I agree keep it together, there can't be many of these left due to its size, its certainly the first O&R with a pump that I've seen in the UK, the pump I have was bought from the US.

I thought I had already posted pictures of mine, but they must have been on the old forum.
The Webb Hedgetrimmer 30" version
Little Wonder 16" version
Are you able to change the thread title to include Webb & Little Wonder hedgetrimmers?
I have the manuals for these and will upload them as PDF's when I get a chance.
David
-
Yours looks like a Little Wonder version to me, the Webb ones are relabelled with a UK address on the sticker as shown below on mine.
Unfortunately its very faded so I can't read all of it: Webb Lawnmowers Ltd and the address should be Tame Road, Witton, Birmingham. The logo is the same as this from a lawnmower booklet.
I also have a Little Wonder version with the later 13B engine.

Here another Champ that I have added to my collection, its a 12V only version made for the US military. Unusually the engine serial number has been ground off, I don't know if all the ex-military ones were.
Since taking the pictures I have removed the incorrectly fitted NGK long-reach spark-plug and fitted a Champion UY6, this isn't the first time I've had a seller fit a new plug of the wrong type just before they shipped it.

There was a Chicken Power sold last year with a 13B engine that also had no primer button, which I also thought was wrong until I had a look at the manual posted here: http://myoldmachine.com/topic/1452-chicken-power-manual/ , no primer button & no mention of it in the instructions.
Perhaps my carb was originally on a Chicken Power, as the other two Dyna-Mite generators I have seen definitely had the primer button.

Here is my Petro Chug-A-Pump that I bought last year from the US.
More pictures here: http://myoldmachine.com/topic/1490-petro-chug-a-pump/

Another recent addition to my collection is this Orline Dyna-Mite 300 generator set.
Usually the carb top on this late model 13B engine has no primer button, also the fuel tank filler is extended to the top of the frame.

It is also a good idea to pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder through the spark-plug hole before storage. Distribute the oil by pulling the starter rope slowly, with the engine held at various angles. This is recommended in the challenger chainsaw manual.
One of the already restored engines I bought, ended up with a struck piston presumably from storage without oil. Some oil left to soak in the cylinder over a few days freed it up OK though.
There are contact cleaners/lubricants available that claim to prevent corrosion, although I don't know how long they last.
