  1. Looks good Chris. You have been busy.
  2. Happy Birthday Ian. Have fun.
  3. It was in good condition 43 odd years ago. The weather has given it a good battering though. There are a few similar wheels and tires still in storage in John's barn.
  4. I told him if it was tipped on it's side it would go into the sprinter. He didn't want to know.
  5. After weeks of sorting, finding goodie's and clearing junk, the Showman and I thought we would have a play for a change. Chris had left one of his horses on site for haulage duty's in case it was needed while I was finishing off my Roper, so as it was a nice sunny day we had a drive around to start with. Last week, during his usual end of day walkabout, Chris spotted a long lost trailer which I knew was somewhere on John's land. We decided to drag it out from the undergrowth for a better look. As expected it was in poor condition, the woodwork having rotted away and the lighter metal not much better. The main chassis was still good and solid and the wheels still revolved. Hitching up one tractor got it moving until the wet muddy ground caused wheel spin. The same result with the other tractor. Both tractors hitched up together did the trick. The trailer was then towed across the field to a new resting place. For some unknown reason, the sun decided to replace it's self with clouds and rain so we finished up a bit soggy. As usually happens, after spoiling the fun the sun decided to play nicely again. We didn't manage to take photo's of the tow in progress. Too busy having fun. The last photo, scanned from an old print, shows the same trailer about 43 years ago just after John and I had returned from a Bolens and equipment recovery trip. The things we got away with in those days. Just imagine being on the road with that lot these days. My son, on the tractor, was just pretending to drive. The Bolens in the trailer has somehow now found it's way to Norfolk. The four wheel trailer is the one Chris is restoring now. Another fun filled day. Thanks Chris.
  6. Don't think Nigel is the right shape for jumping around like a Kangaroo. Rolling around maybe. Better go and now.
  7. What's Nigel hiding under his sweater in photo 5 Ian.
  8. He's waiting until he gets a van load to make the journey worthwhile. He'll need to fill it up for the return trip too.
  9. Don't think a jiffy bag would be strong enough, but Chris could deliver with his Royal Mail Red Sprinter van. If he leaves now he should get to you before the fall. I'm off to now before he see's this.
  10. The wheel is seized up Alain. Extra push effort and exercise for Nigel. - - - - - - - - - - -
  11. Just when we think we have found everything, more items are discovered.
  12. It's a Nigel or Paul ( get you fit ) push plough, not for a tractor to play with.
  13. I've still got that to find out. How old am I. WHAT ! Really.
  14. You may have Chris. ? Don't remember though.
  15. Oi.! I'm slim and streamlined, except for the middle section.
  16. And make the seat a LOT wider.
  17. Are you delivering it to Norm with the potatoe lifter. ? They would make a nice pair.
  18. And while you are up there, collect the Ransom engine bits and deliver to Koen. SUTTON INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY SERVICE.
  19. OK Norm. Now got your name on it.
  20. YES. Next visit. It will need work though. Apart from seized parts some, maybe all, of the five spring arms ? are rusted away where they join the triangular spade. Do you want another signed for special delivery. I'm sure Chris would be happy to oblige.
  21. A few more items found weeks ago while clearing out at John's. First, a 9" diameter wheel. Crude and not perfectly round. Any idea's anyone. Steering or control wheel.? 1/2" bar and split clamp with 1/2" bore. Next, an odd looking spring compressor. Third is a Potato lifter ? Can be angled left or right. Well, it could if it wasn't it seized up. Various other seized up adjustments too. And the biggest turnbuckle / tensioner the Showman says he has ever seen. He is wondering if he can use it on a future project. Mentioned on the forum recently was a few lengths of box section steel with Royal Mail lettering. Stormin Norm requested they be thrown into the Showman's van for him for when they next meet. Chris was muttering something today about making a special delivery, signed for and tracked, trip. Well, his van is red. After tearing himself away from tea and coffee making duties at home, he has to keep his builders happy, Chris was sent to collect some roofing tiles from John. Where else. To make the trip worth while, and due to a shortage of red bits, another load of sticks went back home with him. Another nice but cold "What can we find today" day.
  22. What a short memory he has Norm. He saw them only two days ago. Looks like I will have to show him as I know EXACTLY where they are. He might start remembering things when he gets to my age.
  23. Bet there will be a lot of "Where does this bit go" and "I'm sure something went here" when it's re assembly time.
