  1. Pawls look much better now Darren. Can't understand though, how the combined efforts of the Showman and myself failed to convince you to fill your car up. Such a waste of space.
  2. Very lucky there Gareth. Could have come though the windscreen.
  3. Happy Birthday Koen. Have a good one,
  4. The brush and the Billy Goat combined Norm.
  5. Good photo's and view Norm. Worth getting frozen for.
  6. An interesting day by the look of things Paul. Like the red and black car with shock absorbing ? wheels. No sign of chickens near the plucker though. They must have clocked off.
  7. My two are a Unimat 3 with mill / drill attachment which I bought for model making. Recently used to bore out a sprocket mounted on the original face plate via a larger diameter adaptor which I made years ago. The second is a round bed Drummond which was friend John's first lathe many years ago. After being found in his barn, buried, rusty and seized up, it is now being SLOWLY brought back to life. Although it looked only fit for scrap, it is cleaning up much better than expected and will do all that I need, mainly simple turning and drilling jobs. Nothing precision, just "That's close enough". No ID plate or mounting rivet / screw holes visible anywhere. More photo's as and when.
  8. Won't be long before I start a thread Richard. Just didn't want long delays in between postings while I was scratching my head trying to work out how to do the next bit.
  9. Nice little motors Norm. I should have grabbed those at John's before someone nicked them. Not sure what they were attached too. Could only see the motors peering out from the bushes.
  10. Hi, Darren. There are the remains of one, possibly two, at John's place. Might have posted photo's under Bolens Stash a good while ago. One has the cast wheels, the other which is just the gearbox and wheels has rubber tyres. Not sure if these are the same model as yours but will have a look and take photo's next visit on Tuesday.
  11. Well, I was going to wait until I got a bit more advanced before posting but here is my 1/2 size D series Wheelhorse. The Showman and I have just had test runs which look promising although it was difficult to sit properly with temporary tiller steering and footrests. Hopefully it will be better when finished, but if not plan Z is to be towed on a trailer. Just roughly bolted together for now.
  12. Cleaned the ID plates yesterday which showed up most of the numbers although some are difficult to read. The first photo is of the angle box. Could be a 1 at the start and an 0 or C at the end. Followed by 6334 8478 ? The axle numbers are shown on the next photo. A lot clearer after a good wire brushing.
  13. One little un from me Chris, if all goes to plan. Might be 2 if I paint the Roper red.
  14. A lot of useful info there. Thanks. I see what you mean about all the variants and that 600 is just the series. I have just had a quick look so far but will dive in deeper later. As said, I will take a magnifier on my next visit.
  15. Found similar info after your previous posting, thanks, just not got around to replying. Had another look and found the ID plate which gave the model number as 668 ? Difficult to read but defiantly not 600. This MAY be due to the added angle box. Will have another look with a magnifier on my next visit to John's. After cleaning off some of the dirt etc, could see that one of the axle end housings has been welded up. It was about 1/4" shorter than the other side. Everything turned freely though and all gears, 3 plus reverse engaged. The angle box also turned freely by hand after starting off with a spanner. This is now reserved but the axle still available if required.
  16. Very nice Norm. As Andrew said, nice colour scheme.
  17. The supervisor is keeping a close eye on proceedings.
  18. Norm's cracked it. About time, keeping us all waiting. Looks good though. More brownie points for the collection.
  19. It was hard to tell you and your twin apart Ian, luckily there was only ONE Nigel.
  20. Thanks Mark. Quick answer.
  21. Another item dug out from John's today. This was attached to a 3 wheel frame. We think it was built, but not completed, by John's brother in law years ago and left abandoned in the woods. The front end has a motor cycle fork with a scooter wheel. Car wheels were on the axle. The frame is about 6 foot long. Didn't take photo's but think I might have posted some on here a while ago. The only part which won't turn, by hand anyway, is the input shaft right angle box. This, as can be seen, is a separate item bolted to the axle. No make or numbers visible yet but may be something under the dirt. I expect someone on MoM will have an idea of the make.
