Im vacation in denmark which was a good excuse go and visit the denmark Ferguson museum.
Here's some pics
And here's something we saw while driving
Thats all for now, i'll put more pics up at the end of the week
-
Looking good, but you say you wont be plowing 7to8 inches deep, how deep do you have to plow because i have to plow that deep
-
Cant say i've heard of it before, but for that money why not look for a good used one of a known brand?
Like this Lincoln

-
zineb, an off white powder used as fungicide
-
what's there to see in this photo?
-
bottle looks pretty familiar, i'll have a look see
-
valves didn't close propperly, compression came back after letting both valves snap closed two times
-
i've got something better than pics today
-
IT RUNS!!!!
kind of
it starts easy but its a pig to keep running at the moment since the carb isn't supplying enough fuel.
i've had it running stationairy for 10 seconds before the compression suddenly went.
-
the weather cleared so its time for some pictures
-
i've got it home now and after holding the cylinder head of the mg up next to this one its quite clear that the mower is quite a bit smaller so i guess this wont be broken up for spares
im trying to get it running, fixed a compression issue, exaust valve was a bit stuck but after a bit of wd40 and some persuation it opperates again and i'm having compression.
cleaned the carb and tossed around some bits of the mg carb since that one has more broken bits than this one. carb should be functional again now.
now onto the magneto since i can hold the plug wire and ground myself to the machine while spinning the engine without getting zapped
after i fix the spark issue i'll have to fit the oil return line, fill it up with oil, some petrol and see if it wants to tick over
no pics yet, i'll get some when it stops raining
-
yep, howell has them.
http://www.wheelhorseman1000.com/category-s/171.htm
-
looks like the wheel horse has the same engine in it as james has in his 6x6
-
Paul do you have any close up pictures of the bottle so i can have a look for some over here and show my uncle who does crop spraying, maybe he recognises the bottle to be of a specific brand and type
-
good idea on the oak, hadn't thought of that
-
the ad said it was restored/seen through, so i think i did good for 150 euros/ 115 pounds
-
jonathan said it was an early one with a sturmey archer engine, he said probably around 1938
-
yesterday my bossman had a big oak cut down, he said i could take the branches
it was a bit more then i expected
-
bought another ransomes today, this time its a mower with roughly the same engine as on my mg2. this one will be used for parts at first, then when i find the proper parts for the mg2 i will rebuild this one.
and because you all like pics
i will be picking it up saturday
-
loosen the flywheel nut to the end of the crankshaft, hold the flywheel and with a little hammer(or a chunk of aluminium like i use) rap the end of the crankshaft, two or three raps should pop the flywheel right off
-
sheared flywheel key? spark timing wrong?
-
i'll take the lambo then, 4x4 makes a nice start for a offroader
