Wallfish reacted to pmackellow in Ohlsson & Rice (O&R) engine powered tools
Hello Wallfish, these sets were distributed in the UK by Tarpen Engineering
I have a large and ever growing collection of Tarpen tools and was lucky enough to purchase one of these sets in 2013
Photo shows my set at our local meet and greet at Xmas 2013.
Another photo from a show in June 2013 showing my Turbair set flanked by a pair of Landmaster rotavators

Wallfish got a reaction from bowtiebutler956 in 1952 Standard 3000 (Bantam)
That is now one SWEET ride and love to see those old pics.
Thanks for sharing it. Probably a lifetime memory for your son too.
What happened to the lights? Was that something your Dad added or were they factory? I see you closed the holes when you restored it

Wallfish got a reaction from Anglo Traction in Akerman Steering Angles
Use this chart to determine the arm angles for building small vehicles. The correct angle of the arms will certainly help the vehicle steer correctly.

Wallfish got a reaction from sten in 2 seat show cruiser
Just trying to get the ball rolling on here so here's some pics of a 2 seat custom tractor used to cruise around the engine shows. Made of spare Wheel Horse parts and uses a pull start Kohler M8 for power.

Wallfish got a reaction from CasualObserver in Homemade muffler
I made this muffler from an empty propane tank and pipes from a rotted out old muffler.
The old muffler's exterior can was rusted through so I used some of the pipes from it. Drilled the holes into the propane tank, Lined the walls with some fireproof fiber mat and held that in place with some wire fence that has 1/2" square holes. It was a pain to get it right by working through the little hole but not too bad. Welded in the used pipes and came out with a pretty quiet little muffler. It's not pretty but it's more quiet than the Nelson mufflers are and 1000% better than those pepper pot mufflers. This was kind of an experiment so maybe the next one I will use new materials and was thinking of doing 2 chambers.

Wallfish reacted to stevasaurus in How To Grease Pack Trailer Bearings
I know a lot of us have trailers, and I think one of the most neglected things on a trailer is the bearings. This is a "how to" with pictures and a video of how I was taught how to do this. Hope you enjoy this and that it helps you care for the bearings in your trailer.
The bearing that volunteered for this project.
A little blurry, but using a screwdriver to drive off the dust cap.
Once loose, you can work the dust cover off with a pair of channel locks
Using a side cutters to grab the catter pin and remove it.
Remove the castle nut.
Pull off the hub with the inner and outer bearings.
Use a punch to tap out the inner bearing and seal.
Click on the video to see how to pack the bearings.
Thanks for taking a look.

Wallfish got a reaction from CasualObserver in Toothpick Art
It's been a long time since these were made but I'd like to start making some replica tractors some day. Just thought I'd post these since Karl put in the wood working topic.
ooops, looks like I broke the clutch handle and didn't notice it until I looked at these preview pics.
