diggerjames 543 #1 Posted September 12, 2014 Hi all after seeing many pictures of stretched Horses and brilliantly modified machines to make them more versatile etc such as Marks Brilliant 4x4 conversion on his C101 (check his build thread ) and his latest creation project bendy , then there's Ian with his awesome Raider 6x6 which will go anywhere see the you tube videos ! And the Showman ( Chris) with Trac horse which is another very good mod ! Any way back to my idea I've just very recently took delivery of a 4 speed transmission thanks Ian - Mark and my plan is to attach this behind my 8 speed transmission on my C141 donor tractor and then I will connect the transmissions together so I have 4 wheel drive on the rear of the tractor ! Which I will connect via a chain drive more about that later he's my first nights work enjoy! 1 Ian reacted to this
meadowfield 1,900 #2 Posted September 12, 2014 good start James, are you making both transmission rigid at the back? p.s. thanks for the plug p.p.s. now you've upped the stakes I'm having to work hard on bendy.... 1 diggerjames reacted to this
diggerjames 543 #3 Posted September 12, 2014 I was yes I thought abouck making one articulated but that may mess up my chain drive idea , but you have got me thinking now again !
meadowfield 1,900 #4 Posted September 12, 2014 you could let one twist a few degrees and the chain will be ok, or use double v belts and a tensioner?
Ian 2,417 #5 Posted September 12, 2014 I'm looking forward to this, another interesting/mad build Make sure you keep us updated James

the showman 4,074 #7 Posted September 12, 2014 Is it having wheels on the back, you could have the trailing axle to lift up to stop tyre scrub on corners
diggerjames 543 #8 Posted September 13, 2014 Well after having a sleepless night due to Mark mentioning articulation and Chris mention having a rear lift axle I decided to do a little redesigning and I've now made the rear axle articulate , I still got loads of work to do on this but I think I going in the right direction with it . I'm just making spreader plates which will be facing each other on the pivot point which will have grease between the. Similar to fith wheel coupling on a lorry to help it articulate and spread the load . Here is what I've done so far ! 1 nigel reacted to this

meadowfield 1,900 #11 Posted September 13, 2014 Just noticed you cut the gear stick off, you just need to undo the set screw to lift it out.... 1 diggerjames reacted to this
