It's grim up north - pics

Recommended Posts

We've had a fair bit of rain this last week, last night we caught the back end of abigail. I was up at 1am this morning screwing sheets across doorways and mopping up water from the window sills. Our new house seems to leak like a sieve :(

Here's a few from the day

Both lanes in the bottom are flooded too, my little Citroen will not get me through to work tomorrow....

Very sorry to here this Mark, Water is one of the worst of Mother Natures bad sides. I feel your pain after pumping water for days this spring. God luck in getting to the repairs and getting it all sorted out. You should be able to identify all existing problems now at least.

Is that you house and is that Grimwith reservoir?

That's down the lane from me Norm, that's where my water goes... The reservoir is less than a mile away, winterburn reservoir, built to fill the Leeds Liverpool canal - which is now full if you were wondering

Thanks for your concerns chaps, we had a lot of water - nothing like you had a few years ago though Neil!

Fortunately ours drains away pretty quickly, it's just the path it takes that's not that agreeable :(

All that water is now ice, it was minus four last night.... Brrrrrr

Darn... Now three weeks into some of the worst rainfall and storms for years.

Every day is a challenge to get through the floods.

Last weekend the rain made something really special....

Malham cove became, malham fall. For the first time in living memory

The floods in the valley bottom never really subsided, and the A65 has been single file through gargrave.

Then I get home last night to see a lot of water has come through the walls and flooded my workshop. :(

Tomorrows job will be getting some heat in to dry things out, and some water diversion tactics
