meadowfield 1,900 #1 Posted November 15, 2015 We've had a fair bit of rain this last week, last night we caught the back end of abigail. I was up at 1am this morning screwing sheets across doorways and mopping up water from the window sills. Our new house seems to leak like a sieve Here's a few from the day Both lanes in the bottom are flooded too, my little Citroen will not get me through to work tomorrow.... Pics slow to copy and download, Internet is barely that around here...

HeadExam 1,783 #3 Posted November 15, 2015 Very sorry to here this Mark, Water is one of the worst of Mother Natures bad sides. I feel your pain after pumping water for days this spring. God luck in getting to the repairs and getting it all sorted out. You should be able to identify all existing problems now at least.

meadowfield 1,900 #7 Posted November 15, 2015 Is that you house and is that Grimwith reservoir? That's down the lane from me Norm, that's where my water goes... The reservoir is less than a mile away, winterburn reservoir, built to fill the Leeds Liverpool canal - which is now full if you were wondering
Stormin 4,458 #8 Posted November 15, 2015 Closer to Winterburn than Malham then?
meadowfield 1,900 #9 Posted November 15, 2015 Closer to Winterburn than Malham then? Yes, but most folks haven't heard of winterburn so it's easier to say malham.

meadowfield 1,900 #14 Posted November 22, 2015 Thanks for your concerns chaps, we had a lot of water - nothing like you had a few years ago though Neil! Fortunately ours drains away pretty quickly, it's just the path it takes that's not that agreeable All that water is now ice, it was minus four last night.... Brrrrrr
meadowfield 1,900 #15 Posted December 11, 2015 Darn... Now three weeks into some of the worst rainfall and storms for years. Every day is a challenge to get through the floods. Last weekend the rain made something really special.... Malham cove became, malham fall. For the first time in living memory The floods in the valley bottom never really subsided, and the A65 has been single file through gargrave. Then I get home last night to see a lot of water has come through the walls and flooded my workshop. Tomorrows job will be getting some heat in to dry things out, and some water diversion tactics

HeadExam 1,783 #18 Posted December 11, 2015 This same weather pattern hit your area about 700 years ago, it was very nasty in the first years of the 14th century!
meadowfield 1,900 #19 Posted December 13, 2015 Well the snow never happened More rain We couldn't get out if the village yesterday, blocked both ways by people who thought their cars were boats. This morning the A65 was single file

HeadExam 1,783 #22 Posted September 15, 2016 Are you thinking of buying a boat? Something that can traverse water seems in order, maybe a small Helicopter.
Stormin 4,458 #23 Posted September 15, 2016 Been ok over this way, Mark. Misty start this morning and humid. Then scorching hot all day. Just grand for erecting Carol's new studio and felting the roof.
