    Kohler Carb.

Wanted carb to fit C-81 Kohler 8hp.
  2. The photo's were taken about 7am I think. I made good time home, despite the extra weight. About 3hrs. Would have been a bit quicker except Appleby Fair lot were leaving. A66 east bound was chock a block for miles. Not to bad heading west.
  3. Just a few photo's I took. A pause for breath on the A66 top of Stainmoor Friday morning. The line up. Taken early before certain tardy persons arrived to take the covers off their horses. And finally some miscellaneous.
  4. A good weekend, if a trifle damp on Saturday. Thanks to one and all for your company.
  5. I hope to leave by 9. Should arrive about 12. Coffee milk and two sugars please.
  6. Hope there's no narrow lanes and sharp bends.
  7. Disco and trailer loaded and ready. Only two horse but room for one more.
  8. You'll be pleased to hear the C-81 is on the trailer. So you can have a play. BTW. It drove on under it's own power.
  9. Started it up this morning and it ran OK. But only on idle. As soon as I tried to give it some throttle it would rev then die. Everything points to fuel starvation, either the pump is not working right or the carb needs cleaning out. So It looks as if I wont be taking it to Newby. Disappointment is an understatement. When I get back it will be carb and pump off.
  10. Mind you, getting it on the trailer could be fun.
  11. I'll not have much time tomorrow but I'm going to remove the float bowl in the morning. It's got a weep anyway. I've the trailer to collect and bank to rob in the afternoon. Then get loaded. It'll be at Newby so the experts can have a look.
  12. I had an ex contract Wolseley a good few years back, until it put it's rod through the side. A beast as stated. It could cut down gooseberry bushes. Not on purpose I hasten to add.
  13. Got the electrics sorted with the help of an electrical clued up friend. I really should say, he sorted them out. Put petrol in and started to turn it over. And over, and over. Didn't even cough. Took the fuel pipe off the pump and I gave it a little suck to pull fuel through. It came through alright and I certainly coughed. Pipe back on still no joy, so I poured a bit of petrol into the carb. It soon fired up after a short crank. It won't run right though. Keeps stopping and won't run without some choke jigging. Give it some throttle and it will die. I suspect dirt in the carb or maybe flooding. I'll have a look in the morning. One thing I've noticed, no main mixture screw on the top. Looks like it's been snapped off.
  14. Very true. Been getting it wrong here.

    Splined Coupler

That's a possibility if push comes to shove. A good V for the weld and careful clean up. The Fife Ploughman will know about spares I should think.
  16. Have you seen the weather forecast? We'd best take our waterproofs.
  17. Had you nothing better to do?
