squonk got a reaction from HeadExam in Not a Lot.
Ah yes the days of drift jumping. I had a friend about 35 yrs. ago when we really got a lot of snow off Lake Ontario. He had an old 60's Chevy wagon beater that he rammed the roads with during winter. He reinforced the front rad area and when we got some good snow ,we pile about 8 of us in there and a few cases of beer and go Drift Jumping or Busting. Those Firestone Town and Country's got a workout!

The box of nuts and bolts will be handy. And that's a tidy looking compressor.
What else? Go on. you can tell us. We won't tell Pam.

Thought we would have a social outing to the Autojumble this morning for a cupper and bacon sarnie, you never know what you will find.
After having a natter with a few friends i had a rummage on a few stalls and here's the bits I found.
A Kohler exhaust, brand new for £2.
A box of Wheelhorse bits for £5.
Fuel filters for £1 each.
A nice little compresser for £25.

Couple of inches that's all. Most we've had down here on the Solway Plain for years.

That looks to be in pretty good shape.
One thing I might point out is that they are setup up wrong.
Each gang needs to be rotated 180 Deg. for proper operation.
When setup correctly the concave side of the disc should be facing the direction of travel. That allows them to cut into the ground.

Went to visit Mr Showman in the deep South today as we were out and about on this lovely warm March Day
We managed to rehome his set of Sisis discs for him, they will look good behind our smaller ride ons

Back last summer while I was at a mates barn having a rummage, right at the back in the darkness I found a red tractor that ive never seen before.
After a bit of research I found that it was built by Toro for one year and because of poor sales was dropped.
The dealer had 10 and offered them at a deal and my mate bought 3.
Two were used for a contract that he had then parked up and the third is still new and not assembled.
The one I have bought is a Toro GMT 230 1978, It has a Kohler 23 hp engine, hydraulic deck lift and bends in the middle.
It was parked up in the barn in the late 90s after doing 170 hours work and left until I spotted it. After fitting a makeshift fuel tank and a good battery it fired straight up with everything working.
Have to say i'm chuffed to bits with it and sounds really nice, awesome thing to drive

squonk reacted to HeadExam in Be very wary when selling your car!
I sold my Volvo 850 GLT Wagon almost three years ago and last month I got a ticket in the mail for running a toll plaza. The tag was clearly visible and apparently the buyer had been driving the car with no registration, no licence plate, and no insurance. I wrote the Department of Public safety and enclosed a bill of sale and notice from my insurance company notarizing the sale and I instructed them to send the ticket to the police since if someone could drive that car for nearly three years without it being taken off the road it was an enforcement issue, not my problem.

I can see why people part exchange/ trade their cars when buying a new car. In fact over the years I have just set my cars against the purchase of the new one. The only exception is buying and selling classic cars,

squonk reacted to Stormin in You can't make it up.
Swmbo went to the green grocers in Wigton for some cabbage for Timothy, her beloved rabbit. "Sorry there's a shortage," the assistant said. "We have to import it as we can't grow it in this country."
WHAT! Since when? Don't know what those green things I've seen in the fields and allotments are then?
