Got the urge to play with the drill press out in the 120F garage. Decided to build another stand.  I think this one will be good for engine test runs.

Excellent,  I have a brand new tube of HondaBond 4 which is basically the same as the Yamabond.

I have used either the kitchen stove or a hot-air gun. Mostly depending on for how long the missus leave the house ;-) .

From experience I can tell though that if you forget it on the stove, it can be kind of hard getting the smell out of the house before she returns...

Balance is actually not too bad considering the fairly odd design. Compared to trimmers today, this would be quite clumsy, especially for extended periods of time. Having the engine and therefore all the weight down at the head does make it feel like it could get unwieldy.  It’s cool having one handle be the gas tank and the other handle the air cleaner. Someone was definitely thinking outside the box...

No photos of the actual pump attachment but the instructions do reference a Life-Savr Pump Model 410P.

I didn’t see any indications anywhere on the unit for AEP. Dimensions of the gray line spool is 5” diameter. The black spool shroud is approximately 6 1/4” diameter. The yellow guard is about 13 3/8” corner to corner and about 7 1/8” from the center to the edge.

Landed an O&R Life-Savr Generator that looks to be in pretty good shape. Has all the original paperwork. The original box is super fragile and pretty beat up but it still has the label for where it was sold.

That’s a great looking mower, never seen one like that. Interesting design concept with the wood roller/wheels.  It looks awesome with the O&R on it!  Can’t wait to see the final product when you’re all done.

After seeing CNews fantastic mower project it got me thinking...

I had a spare O&R engine in stock and a very sad looking Nash Boadicea mower with a tired JAP 34 on it...

It's not finished yet, just a bit of fun using what bits I have in stock...

Another one of these appeared yesterday on ePay in France, definitely not a work of art in this condition (needs a lot more than some body filler) but does show most of the parts used in the pictures. It had 9 days left when I saw it earlier today, but just noticed it has ended early before posting.

There are 18 rollers in both pictures I took, you have to fit them in the crankcase on this type before inserting the crankshaft. Can't see anything that looks like a thrust washer though.

I like that you’ve incorporated the little O&Rs in your display - that’s a nice touch!  I don’t know how many times I’ve been tempted to buy a 23 or 60 but I’m afraid if I do that I’ll get hooked on those too.

Ok, here’s the little project I’ve been working on for the last couple weeks.  I’ve been wanting to make a small lawn mower/trimmer with an O&R and I had a nice 133 military engine that needed to find a home.  Thanks to Terry@Just O&R, he was able to hook me up with the perfect vintage mower - it was exactly what I was hoping for. This one is a 14” Sensation, perfect size and design style for the O&R.

It’s not 100% done yet but I couldn’t put off getting some photos posted. I’m still working on the actual trimmer concept and plan to go with more of a weed eater head set up instead of a mower blade.  I plan to use the starter cup off a vintage Pioneer chainsaw and drill three holes so I can pass through some pre-cut Trimmer lines with end-stops. I’ll figure out a good way to secure the cup to the spindle shaft. I also added a stop button to the back plate similar to a few other O&R tools I have.  I’m also finalizing a short throttle cable, doesn’t really need one but thought it might be nice. After a lot of hunting I ended up finding a cast aluminum boat chair pedestal that made the perfect adapter plate to mount the engine to the mower. I also had to swap out the normal Type 133 mount with one that has a couple more inches in height. This was needed to get the right clearance for the gas tank.  Just a note, the early style Drillgine gas tanks don’t mount to the newer style engines and I had to make a couple slight mods to the casting on the case to get all the clearances to fit right.

Hopefully not, I've taken lots of pictures during further disassembly to make sure I know where all the small parts go back.

Here is the back of the powerhead with the coupling for the flexible drive, note this uses a larger than normal tank (the lid of this is currently seized on).

Might be hard to see, but there are two long screws holding the cover in place.

Those were removed along with the air cleaner, allowing the cover to be removed, the extension for the cylinder baffle plate is loose once the cover is removed.
Note the stop button on the side of the cover, it contacts with the standard brass stop strip.

Possibly the only O&R where they had to build the engine up in the middle of the casing, don't know what they were thinking.

    More to follow.....
