Looks to be some kind of tool for tensioning and securing the banding used for strapping items to pallets etc? But as the label suggests, it could be used for performing the same task, but using wire instead of banding?
Hi Clive, Welcome to the forum. I donβt know whereabouts you are in the country, but the agricultural/ machinery auctioneers, β Cheffins β at Sutton nr Ely in Cambridgeshire have a machinery auction around the beginning of every month, and a βVintageβ auction three times a year. Have a look on their website, there are Howard Gem rotavatorsΒ Β regularly offered in various states of repair. They have aΒ catalogue online, usually about a couple of weeks before each sale. Iβm sure there are also other auction houses, etc around the country if you look hard enough!
Iβve been looking for a source for the pto clutch linings. Not wanting to pay Toro prices, I found a company that specialises in all types of friction plates etc. Iβve just ordered some linings to suit the 6 3/4β size ptoβs. The companyβs name is Clutchfix ltd. Have a look on their website. To order quote the material type - RF40, dimensions 171 x 108 x 4 mm. Price quoted Β£10.14 p + vat + postage. If you require the older smaller size, (6β), quote the required dimensions. Suggested adhesive = Araldite!
