  1. How are the centres attached to the rims Ian ? Before anyone says, I know they are welded, but, a set of wheels I bought from the sale had the centres more in the middle than to one side of the rim. However, the 'spokes' were held with a couple of weld runs instead of spot welds. I just ground the welds away and the centres were then re-welded further in I think they may have been J D wheels, the PCD was the same as WH. Is it possible to transfer the centres from the wheels I sent you to the WH rims? The WH centres in the narrow rims would then become desirable ( £££) items for someone with an older WH.who wants to fit say 6x12 ag's
  2. Evening Ian, How about fabricating spacers by turning flanges, one to suit the axle, one to suit the wheel and joining the two with a spacer tube between them. This could be dimensioned to allow access to the nuts for the axle and the outer flange threaded for the WH bolts. this way you shouldn't have any conflict between the 5 stud to 4 stud positions Or a solid spacer threaded 4 stud one side, 5 stud on the other, remove the wheel studs and fit the spacer to the halfshaft with cap screws from the back face of the flange. "Lookin Good" p.s. In the machinery sale there was a Nice lathe, Wilson-2 metre b/c 280mm centre height, £950. and a Bridgeport mill which didn't reach it's reserve of £500 with this lathe you could turn the wheels without taking the tyres off
  3. Looks like something out of 'Mad Max 2' Ian, "hmmm" A 2 wheeled horse, flotation tyres, the ultimate pit bike!! Or fitted with a cutting deck you could mow under ovehanging hedges/brambles without geting scratched. Now theres a thought!
  4. Great videos Ian, I must find out how to upload videos, it will remove a lot of strain from my shutter button finger as I would then only have to press it once per shot instead of a couple of hundred times to take seperate photos haha.
  5. Thanks Ian, I've just checked my camera & have space for another 269 pics @10megapixels. The card still contains all the photos I've posted from the other shows + a wedding we went to. As for the MF1200, it's only a 'Bendy' with a cab! Your next project perhaps?
  6. So many this year I had to take shos of the rows of exhibits, rather than each one. I'll find out later how many people attended, the site manager is my mate 'Farmer Boyce'. I spent a couple of days getting his Gunsmith Mk2 & Bonser truck running but he didn't take them in the end. The next time I'm in his barn I'll take some pics of his gear, Bristol 10 crawler, Ransome MG 5 x2, A/Chalmers B x2 Major County crawler, Dexta, MF TED x2 Loads of Lister D's etc, etc, etc. Not counting his John Deere's MF's Ford's & International's
  7. A half track would be nice ;)
  8. Day 2, NO WHEELS, ONLY HOOVES!!THE RIGHT COLOUR THOUGH.
  9. more pics from day 1.Didn't expect to see the 6x6 here.A view accross to the village where I live.
  10. Plenty of things for sale, a couple of Myfords, a speed 10 and an ML7, I don't know what he wants for them but he sold me an unused Mini radiator (old type) for £20.00p which looks about small enough to fit the raider 10 if I decide to fit the Kubota Z482 or Z722 in it. On my way back there again today, it's only round the corner more pics later
  11. Yes. it is usually a very well attended show, this year the rows of tractors seem to go on forever,a large number of traction engines/rollers also, classic cars/trucks also in attendance. A stubble field available as a working area for heavy horses as well as tractors. The displays of stationary engines virtually 'surrounded' the rally site! The rally site is also just outside the next village along from the one I live in.
  12. just a few pics today, more to come tommorow.
  13. Saw this on R.S. and thought "A Desperado carrier" and a use for the left over front hood section from the 'Shakin Horse' build, How about one of these for your next project mr Showman?
  14. Recycling with a positive purpose! I like it! :D
  15. HADDENHAM STEAM RALLY September 6th / 7th. usually pretty good, previous years videos on Youtube.
  16. Mine arrived yesterday! Fantastic, Well worth the money!!!! :D 58 / 200
  17. At least my 2 'grass munchers' are under one horse power each, wait untill they ban welding sets, we'll all be using high powered glue guns!
  18. It seems that in an attempt to protect the planet from us mere mortals, the powers that be have decided to limit the power of new vacuum cleaners to 900watts-1.2hp! I expect the next thing will be to ban the gas guzzling 2 1/2 & 3 1/2 hp monster motor mowers that disturb the peace on Sunday mornings. From now on,only push mowers will be allowed, & as for the morally inexcuseable 'Ride-Ons', well, anyone wishing to own one of these 'Planet Destroyers' ( a collector perhaps ) will probably have to have it 'decomissioned' to prevent it from being started/used which could cause untold damage to the atmosphere. Maybe there will be a 'scrappage scheme' to rid the world of these 'products of a depraved society'. I suppose anyone caught actually using one of these, will suffer the fate of confiscation and crushing! and as for the 'ride-on' ? In the future the only way we will be able to see these 'abominations' in action will be via dvd's in the safety of our extremely 'energy efficient' homes on our very low energy home cinemas, So it's our duty to take as many photos and video clips at shows etc, and don't forget the sound, future generations will be relying on us "Ian" has already attained 'Hero' status due to the quality and volume of his efforts in this field,( and the one behind his house.)
  19. The cheapo welding rods never seem to work very well unless you have a decent set with highish OCV or a DC unit (if you can avoid 'arc blow') I've just ordered a 10lb box or 6011 rods from the USA at a price a 10th of the cost from the UK or Germany, - the same brand name too. On the Fenner power transmissions website you can download the shaft fittings pdf which lists taperloc,Trantorque gtr & Fenlock cone clamping elements, well worth a look as some are keyless and can be used where existing keyways are damaged.
  20. are you using 6010 rods on AC or DC Mark? they are a DC rod.6011's are deep penetration rods for AC.
  21. Got an email from Michael today, my book has been despatched,
  22. Ideal for spraying the projects in, the overspray won't show!!
  23. chisels are better for stirring coffee with than welding rods, but you do get that nice 'coffee shop' aroma if you weld with the rod before it dries. ( no doubt someone will try it to see )
