Jane,my wife has just bought a two year subscription for me as a Christmas present.

Been on a training course today at a certain RAF airfield with a new piece of winter kit, a runway de-icer, spent most of the time watching the Red Arrows training as we were right next to the runway, It's a hard life :D
-
Can you get this down your lane Norm? Called in at HQ today & took some pics of some of the gear there. The plough is 7.2 mtrs wiide & back from foreign climes for repair,it just beat our troops back. The truck is in for fitting with plough & spreader, It's fitted as standard with airlines to the lights to keep water out when wading, could be interesting when changing a bulb.
-
Hope not Neil , I'm on call over Christmas for winter equipment breakdowns
-
with the TS 10000 Norm, you could soon make the lane wider :D
-
Maybe something from here, ( the company I work for ). schmidt flughafentecnik - youtube.

Hi Nigel,
If you have a low displacement pump this will make your rams move slowly compared to a high displacement pump, the pressure would only be a problem if you don't have the correct relief valve in the circuit.
if the pump you are using is a low displacement you could use smaller rams and get the same lifting force by using a higher pressure setting, providing the spools etc are rated high enough. With rams, 'deadheading' will bring the pressure up to the point where the relief will lift so it can be adjusted to whatever suits your system.

Green tractors don't show up in rural areas like Red ones, even with bright yellow wheels
-
Great idea, but with some of the soil around here, we could probably leave the teeth on & drive the disc as well
-
Just seen this at the machinery sale today, hit by a train on an unmanned crossing last year. Apparently the driver escaped because the loaded trailer attached to the tractor tipped the cab and rear end up & back when the train removed the front end
A nice winter project for someone.

I see the BBC are showing off thier latest piece of outside broadcasting equipment, (photo 6) so this is where our licence fees are spent!

Looking great mate,
Here's couple of mine, the C121 has a kubota silencer which had been "repaired" on the outlet. I'm going to make a stainless version now I've got the pure argon for the tig. The 312-8 silencer I copied from the original,ie internal volume, number of holes etc because the carb has a non adjustable main jet,& added a stack pipe no wadding inside but it is very quiet,I'm not happy with the outlet as I cut the hole the wrong shape & instead of putting a plate over I filled the gaps with weld, looks horrible!

Many happy returns Kev

Hi A few pics, the shell is fibreglass & looks as though it has been roughly trimmed after coming out of the mould.
A friend gave itto me about 25 years ago when I was building a model A pickup.
It has hung in the garage ever since, so it should have a nice ripe flavour by now It's yours if you want it, Nigel
, but you'll have to change the Land Rover engine for a Kohler if you want "A little duece coupe with a flathead mill"
-
I'll fish it out tomorrow Nigel and take some pics.

PURE ARGON, again 50 ltr bottle.= £29.00.
cylinder rental = £5.95 per bottle per month. no other charges, except vat. I haven't checked the pressures yet but I believe they are either 230 bar or 300 bar.
Tel-01400 282626.

I've got a 32 Duece grille shell in the garage ;)
-
I've used 5% on car bodywork and 20% on thicker metal, the 15% seems a good compromise, the pure argon I use for tig.
-
I don't know if this is in the right section, but I notice on occasion on various forums, members asking where to obtain Argon gas for mig welding. I have found a company 'Gas Direct' nr Newark,I opened an account and have just received a 50ltr bottle of argon/co2 15% and the same size of pure argon at a good price. If it is allowed on the forum I can post the prices I have paid. These are the large bottles ie BOC 'w' size

"WOW" says it all Mark
