  7. Went to the machinery sale today after a finger bar mower for my BCS, it made a lot of money so I bought these instead. The same size I have on my C121. 7.00 x 12 Continental 4ply. 26" dia Unused, only thing is,4.25" pcd instead of 4.5" & centre hole is smaller, but nice thick centre so they can be re-drilled, or I may turn up some new hubs instead. Cost: £100 .00p for 4.
  8. Shouldn't the throttle butterfly be partialy closed when running at full throttle with no load,? That would show the governor is working if revs maintain when load increases. If it,s an NGK spark plug I would change it,they don't seem to be very good nowadays. I had problems with my C121 which turned out to be the exhaust valve too tight on clearance. The problems I have now are with Honda engines if they are left for over a month without starting I have to strip & clean the carbs to get them to run properly on the c**p they sell as petrol Wth the Briggs V twins it's air filter off & flat out then hand over the carb which usually clears it.Try a temporary fuel supply ie a can above the level of the carb & see if it improves things.Iv'e lost count of the number of lawn mowers that iv'e stripped/cleaned carbs on for neighbours with starting/running problems, ( thats the mowers, not the neighbours ) :) Doug.
  9. Here's one for Nigel, a stablemate for 'Noddy' & a nice warm cab for winter :D

  11. just found out it sold for £9000.00!!
  12. When I use a holesaw I change the pilot drill to a length of 1/4" silver steel, especially for thinner material, it keeps the holesaw running true otherwise the flutes in the drill cause the saw to run out of true. the correct drill for a holesaw has a flute length that ends before the saw starts cutting, but they have usually been replaced at some time or other doug.
  13. Jane,my wife has just bought a two year subscription for me as a Christmas present.
  14. Been on a training course today at a certain RAF airfield with a new piece of winter kit, a runway de-icer, spent most of the time watching the Red Arrows training as we were right next to the runway, It's a hard life :D
  15. Can you get this down your lane Norm? Called in at HQ today & took some pics of some of the gear there. The plough is 7.2 mtrs wiide & back from foreign climes for repair,it just beat our troops back. The truck is in for fitting with plough & spreader, It's fitted as standard with airlines to the lights to keep water out when wading, could be interesting when changing a bulb.

  17. with the TS 10000 Norm, you could soon make the lane wider :D

  19. Hi Nigel, If you have a low displacement pump this will make your rams move slowly compared to a high displacement pump, the pressure would only be a problem if you don't have the correct relief valve in the circuit. if the pump you are using is a low displacement you could use smaller rams and get the same lifting force by using a higher pressure setting, providing the spools etc are rated high enough. With rams, 'deadheading' will bring the pressure up to the point where the relief will lift so it can be adjusted to whatever suits your system.
  20. Just the thing at the sale today Nigel, 150 gallons! Room for passengers also!
