I gave the plough a good pressure washed this afternoon to remove any grime etc. I also applied some WD40 on the moving parts. I am going to buy a Bolens snow plough manual so I know how to attach it properly. Also I need to fabricate a rod which hopefully Iain will give me some measurements to work off.
Cheers chaps. I thought the plough gave my van a meaner street cred look,,,,,,,,
Daniel, the long awaited arrival of the Bolens 800 will now be here NEXT week............
Slightly off topic but from the same stable as Kelsey Publication, I subscribe to Classic Van and Pickup every month. It's a great read and amusingly written. I have bought the odd tractor magazine when it appeals to me. The last copy of Tractor and Machinery didn't float my boat at all. I will be buying the American Garden Tractors Magazine shortly.
Iain,
There's one on that auction site from the USA. Hopefully there might be one in the UK at some point. Still I can plough at the front when there's snow! On a serious note, I can really see the attraction of ploughing; I drove Internationals ,Fords and MFs on farms when I was at Uni and always thought I should have a go at ploughing then.
On the 800 I have a restored deck apparently with 3 rotary blades on it. I nearly bought a rotavotar a few weeks back but I didn't bid enough to secure it. Lesson learnt.
I have just bought a good conditioned snow plough manufactured by Bolens off that auction site for either my Bolens 1254 or my new Bolens 800. I won't be getting them until the end of next week; another weekend without them..... I will post photos as soon as I get them.
Now, what else do I need for my Bolens? A rotavator? Or another example from the Bolens range.
