Triumph66 reacted to rotoscytheben in the rotoscythe countryman a rare beast indeed!!!!!
i purchased this some months ago from a seller ive bought from before in cornwall it was restored about 12 years ago by the maya trust and sold on
it came back to them recently and i purchased it
it was collected whilst i was on holiday in cornwall unfortunatley i didnt realise how big it was and when i arrived at crossgate to collect it soon found out it wouldnt fit through the door of my camper van luckily i have a bicycle rack fittede to the rear of the van not really supposed to take the weight of a vintage rotoscythe but thank god it did a sterling job and dint break off whilst on the 340 mile trip home !!!
here is a picture of her she will also be at tractorfest this weekend if anyone wants a proper look

Triumph66 reacted to slf-uk in The Rescue tractor
Hi,
My six year old son has a name for most of my tractors and I guess I do too on a bad day...
My Bolens HT23 is called Big White and unsurprisingly my D series Wheelhorses are called Big Red. One of my Westwood D1200 is called The Outback tractor because it lost it's storage and was left at the back of the house for ages. Many of the others have names too which only he can remember.
One of my favourite tractors is one of my Bolens H16's which is known as The Rescue tractor. This is the machine of choice for dragging broken tractors and cars to the workshop, mainly because it is very reliable and strong as an ox. Most of the time it is fitted with dual rear wheel weights which gives it amassing traction and a sleeve hitch operated by the hydraulics.
Do you have names for your tractors and if so are they any more unusual than the names mine have?
A few pictures of The Rescue tractor having fun in winter and dragging home a broken Westwood D1200 and Wheelhorse D-200.

Triumph66 reacted to neil in Got a Horse ?? Get the book !!
Paul.
Delighted you have got one of Michaels books .
Would you believe we spent 7 hours getting the books prepared for sale.
Michael, myself , Michaels daughter Michelle & Carolyn spent all day folding books sleeves, making boxes
My job was to make boxes & pack the books, Carolyn's job was to number the books , Michaels job was to fold book covers & sign books.
Michaels lounge was covered in boxes , books and wrapping while we were preparing them for the Wheelhorse show
The book is an awesome book & well worth buying & will only increase in value.
The first edition has reach a value of over $400 on amazon .
Anyone wishing to buy a book can contact
http://wheelhorsestory.com/home/8-straight-from-the-horse-s-mouth-the-wheel-horse-story.html
Or you can buy on US Ebay or from Redsquare

Triumph66 reacted to slf-uk in Bolens Husky tractor
Andrew,
It is possible that I may have an air filter as I do have a scrap engine. The challenge will be getting to it, I will get back to you but it may take a while. Let me know if you find one in the interim as the challenge of getting to it is not insignificant. I think I have six cutting decks for the tube frame tractors but at the moment I don't want to loose any. I recently scrapped a 34" deck from my Bolens 850 so I have a few spare deck parts.
You may want to contact Chester Hudson http://www.mdr.co.uk/tillerparts/tillerparts4.html to see if he has a deck. I am sure he will have an air filter if you can't wait for me to get back to you.
I have a PDF parts manual for the 1254, a Tube frame service manual and a Wisconsin service manual plus lots of others, let me know your email address if you want a copy of any or all.

Triumph66 reacted to Ian in Two reasons why not to let Nigel near your woodworking tools!
As some of you will know Nigel an I have had some trailer repairs to do after Noddy (The Holder) put a wheel through the trailer bed on the way back from Rural Past Times on Sunday..
These two chisels were perfectly usable until Nigel used them today

Triumph66 reacted to neil in Bsa motorcycles
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_BSA_motorcycles
A truly magnificent piece of British motorcycle engineering.
As a kid I would often be taken to the local gravel pit with my dad & ride all over the huge mountains of excavated gravel .
We used to ride. Grandfathers old BSA bantem , I'm not too sure which model it was but I do know it had a single rigid seat.
It was great fun but sadly my dad sold the bike way back in the late 60,s .
I wished we still had that bike now .
I often take a look at some of the wonderful old brochures that were made for motorcycles back then .

Triumph66 reacted to ranger in a use for "MY OLD MACHINES" worn /broken parts.
Some pics of 'metal sculptures' made from worn/broken parts from some of the machines we build.
These were made for 'retiring' colleagues in the group I work for. All the parts have a 'history'
