Great progress Tom. I have just used my spare Wheelhorse Ammeter on my Bolens G10

I bought them from the usual auction site and by coincidence they arrived today. They took so long to be delivered that I forgot I ordered them and it looks like I ordered a second set, old age having an impact. I'll PM you the link and if the second set arrive before we catch-up in a couple of weeks time, you can have them.

I did notice that the deck has a large number of fixing holes on the exit end of the deck. I have no idea if all WH decks are like that but it may suggest that it had a bagger attached at some point in the past.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered some male/female spade connectors with the locking facility and single connector blocks. They were cheapish so I though I would see if they are a match for use on our type of tractors. Still waiting for them to be delivered.

I think we have all had similar experienced, Tom and I were sharing ebay tales the other day and it would seem some buyers are just not very clever. Gumtree does not put your advert in front of as many people but it does seem to provide more serious buyers.

Looking good, nice stack.
How long before the missus notices that the washing post is missing?

Very handy piece of equipment. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the restoration.

Thanks for that, I'm definitely living in the wrong country

Happy to help Tom. It was great to have some time on the journey to talk about our equipment and to see the tractor.
I am really pleased you managed to sort it out so quickly. It is a lovely machine and other than the wiring it appears to have been well looked after.
The frame under the hitch is very interesting and well made. Even if it was not a factory option it may have been something the importer offered.

Andrew, I first used caustic acid then a product called Sea Clean 2. The machine is a 3.2 litre machine which is the perfect size for tractor carbs. I put a picture of the machine of the Ultrasonic cleaner thread.

That's what I thought it was

No progress on the G14 until this weekend as I have been doing some work on my Bolens HT23.
I pulled the carb off (again) and took it apart, again no obvious signs of any debris. I put it through the ultrasonic cleaner which certainly made it look visually better. It started looking like this
and ended up looking like this
I connected up the fuel and it started up without a problem. My test driver took it for a 1/2 hour drive without issues. It passed the smile test.
Carb still needs tuning and a few other jobs were highlighted.

That will be a fun project, looking forward to the updates.

Very nice and it does not take up too much space either.

Very much looking forward to seeing the list of items coming up for sale.

I bought a ultrasonic cleaner a while back but not had the chance to use it until today. I used it on the troublesome Bolens G14 carb, first with caustic acid as suggested by Norm and then with a general cleaner to remove any traces of the acid. It came out looking great but I have not had the chance to reassemble and test the carb yet.
Picture of the cleaner I bought sitting on the Hood of a rather rusty Bolens G10. My Bolens are just like our cats, they get into every picture

They are identical to the set of ride-a-matic wheel weights I am but they are also identical the set of weights that come with my Cub, which still have the original yellow paint.
Is it possible that they are a generic weight that was fitted to a number of tractors at the time.

Going out of your way (even slightly) to help someone is surprisingly uncommon in this country. A request is often met by sucking through teeth and a list of reasons why that is not possible. I can live with that, what is annoying is the people who say yes when they mean no and they are really hoping you won't remember you asked.
As we say in these parts, your a good sort.

Fantastic condition. The Bolens attachment page of these brochures is my favourite bit, bedtime reading and dreams of owning some of them

That really is a great 600 and looks even better in these pictures than the ones the seller had. Even better, one of the pictures is a great help for me to see the details of a bracket that is missing on my 600.
The assistance Dave is providing to Andrew is unbelievable and inspiring. I believe Andrew is also using shipping information provided by Neil and me to sort that side. For me this is just another example of the goodwill and support that forum members on here are willing to provide. This is a great place to be!!

What a great machine! Looking forward to seeing more and hearing your plans for it.

It is very easy to access by doing as you suggest and take the covers off. Seat pan first then the cover. You will have a gasket between the cover and the box which can usually be reused if you take care removing the cover.

Hopefully this shows the layout better than my explanation

The shaft with the clutch attached is attached to a shaft coming out of the axle. The shaft coming out of the axle either has a spine or a flat, depending on the axle type. It is not easy so see but I would suggest the next step is to see if that is also turning. If you are lucky the problem could be the joint between the two.
Hope this helps
