Another top job Ewan The sheep looks well impressed.
-
Happy Birthday Ian. Have a good one.
-
Sorry about Dad's face Joseph. Hope he didn't say too many naughty words.
-
Good video Joseph. Nice to see that John's old Bolens is still going strong and being put to use. Probably thinks it's a Wheel Horse though with all the RED paint.

-
Looks good Ewan. Stands out against the red paint.

OOP's. Sorry. That should be 8" x 2.25" not 1.25. Finger trouble. The rims had lugged tires fitted when found Richard. Removed and sent to Darren ( Darmic ) for his project. Just found these photo's.
-
I think these alloy rims are from a small Rotavator. If so, anyone know which one. The tire size would be 8" x 1.25 approx. 1" center hole, 5/16" bolt holes at 1.1/8" C/L. One had a hub 2.5" diameter with a 3/4" bore. Looks like this is in two parts with the center screwed in. Not tried unscrewing it to find out yet. Found at John's during the clear out. Now I need to have a clear out too.

Bit late for me to disappear. Already said I would help son with house move. Happy Easter anyway.

Another TOP job Richard. What next. ?
-
Looks good Richard. Always a way to get a result, even if a few head scratching attempts are needed.

Found on Facebook and sent to me by a family member. Posted by Haslemere Motorcycles. The hood and fenders look a bit D-series Wheelhorse. Any ideas.
-
Looks good Norm. Something I intended to do, one day. Did you find out why the old valves were jammed hard against the rims. ? My guess was the tubes stuck themselves to the rims due to being flat for so many years. Couldn't move them without taking the old tires off. Held air OK though.

Hope you asked Dylan's permission. You don't want him falling out with you.
-
Be interesting to find out. Now where has he been lately.
-
No snow to speak of on the Hampshire / Surrey border. So far anyway, although a few flakes are on the way down right now..
-
All that wood looks too good to burn Joseph. Can't you build another shed with it. ? Storage space for more Bolens Wheelhorse tractors. Forgot to mention the black trailer Iain. Last seen being thrown into your van with lots of other goodie's.
-
Good video Joseph. I'm sure I've seen that Bolens before somewhere, Need to have a think. A little bird tells me that the Showman and Norm are planning a raid sometime soon. They are always on the look out for fire wood.
-
Thanks Richard. Wife thinks I'm mad being out there in the cold. Probably right. I try to do a few hours most days although a lot of the time is spent looking and thinking. SLOWLY getting there though.

A few more small parts. The 4 Tach-a-Matic brackets were cut from alloy sheet. At the time I had idea's of making them working units but wasn't sure of the shape of the pivoting section. A slot was cut, to be shortened later, but in the end it was decided to make them NON working. A simple drilled hole would have done instead. Both sections were rivited together at the front. A 4BA bolt and alloy tube formed the operating lever ? for want of a better description, and secured the rear. I have since seen photos of these units in pieces, but still unsure how the lever ? works. Photo's I have looked at also appear to show other holes in various places, so again a bit of guess work was used.
The mule drive, again NON working, was bent up from alloy and bolted to the underside of the chassis. The pins which would have attached it to the brackets were bolts with the heads cut down and alloy spacer tubes.
Knobs for the front of the removable grill were machined from small plastic balls. Drilled and tapped 4BA first with a bolt used to hold in the lathe chuck. Still need smoothing off.
All these items still need painting. Too cold in my garage for spraying. I can put up with the cold but the paint objects and refuses to play nicely.
-
14BA. I've drilled and tapped 12BA, they were bad enough.
-
Yes, 4 should do Norm. I'm not that heavy. Making the trailer with 2 or 4 wheel conversion. Quick change by pulling out a few R clips. Just something different.
