It is a great tool Norm, for the price you need to get someone to go shopping for you
No that is an idea
Please stay safe and well in these strange times and we are looking forward to catching up with you both soon

As we could not find any toilet rolls in Lidl we decided to buy a Plasma cutter that they had on offer. It works really well and with a bit of practice it will be very handy. A quick review and use video

I can still see the excited, dribbly mouthed look on your face Chris, when you grabbed the tires screaming, MINE, ALL MINE before disappearing with them in the direction of the four wheeled red skip.

Fond memories especially when I found the others in that old caravan.

Sorting out the front tyres from the back of the shed, I knew these would come in handy one day.
No prizes for guessing where they came from, .
The wheels that i made I decided to put nuts and bolts through them although I welded them it’s just a safety issue, also found some shiny capped nuts to add a bit of bling.

As the sun was shining today I thought I’d paint the wheels and seats.
First job was to make a jig to hold the wheels as it’s difficult to hold them up with hooks while painting,
I’m really pleased with them and will leave for a few days to harden before fitting the tyres.

Alan reacted to beardyrich in Gemini restoration
So far so good! The wheels I bought were fitted with needle roller bearings which I removed as the wheels needed to be fixed to the axle which provides the drive. With a centre diameter of 30mm and an axle diameter of 22mm I had to obtain some tubing to act as a bush. The O/D was just the right size but I had to ream out the I/D to fit over the axle shaft. Holes were then drilled to accept the cotter pins to secure them to the axle. Tomorrow, I’m going to weld the wheels to the tubing and continue finishing the wheelbarrow attachment.

More progress on the Gemini. I tried using pipe clamps for hinges that would snap over the front bar/lifting handle but felt they wouldn’t be strong enough so removed them. I came up with an idea that would enable me to lift the barrow attachment onto the bar but remain secure whilst carrying a load. I cut a section out of a pair of eyebolts, just enough to allow them to slip over the bar, and fixed them to a length of steel angle, which also provides some support and rigidity to the bucket.
i then used some steel angle bolted to the rear lower edge of the bucket and cut a slot down one side to engage with the bottom of the tipping lever. It looks a bit rough and ready at the moment but it does work really well. Some more tidying up later before painting.

Got a few bits done today, first was the lift handles, stripped and cleaned then 4 rear hubs and a few pulleys.
The fuel tanks were in poor condition inside and a bit of head scratching.Plan. A acitone and pebbles and do the okey coney round the garden with one in each hand, plan B tie them to the rear wheels of a Wheelhorse and do donuts round the garden, and plan C Pams tumble dryer, then. I had a better idea, a cement mixer, strap them in and drink tea for an hour.

Alan reacted to Cub Cadet in Wheel Horse Clevis Hitch
A while back I noticed a few people asking about these hitches on a Facebook page, thought I’d have a go at making some to see if I could sell any. Here’s how far I’ve got.
First job was making a jig to put the 90 degree bend in some 10x50mm bar.
needed some 1” square bar to fit in the hardy hole of my anvil.
This is the jig I made
The round bar fits in the pritchel hole to keep it sturdy
Works a treat
All the same
Next hurdle was putting the cranks in the bars, I made up an attachment for our hydraulic press
9 tons of force to put these bends in
