Hi all,
I acquired another couple of barford atoms the other day and set about getting one of them going. I cleaned and reset points and then setup the magneto timing, cleaned carb and reassembled. It ran first pull however after about 30 seconds the inside of the exhaust was cherry red and it was starting to spit flames. It would spit flames constantly. I let it cool and started it again and it did the same thing. Why is this? Is it something to do with fuel?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all,
I have to admit I haven't had to sell many of my own collection yet although I did let my suburban go which I regretted a lot and I was lucky enough to buy it back, I definitely won't be letting that go again.
Another one I definitely won't let go is Ian's 312-8 as it's a really nice machine and I feel that it has a lot of sentimental value if you like within the wheel horse community as it was such a famous horse.

Hi all,
I used to have a marine fish tank, which I unforutnetly had to sell and I have to admit that I regret it and I miss it very much. Here are some shots I have found from when I had it.

Very very nice! I have always fancied a cub cadet, are you going to restore it or just get it going? I reckon an oily rag and that would come up really nice. Watching this closely

What a brilliant machine, didn't get stuck once today and boy it was muddy!

Very good information so far George. I have a few ploughs myself but haven't plucked up the courage to enter any ploughing matches yet as I really don't know where to start. I look forward to any further information and tips you have.

Hi,
Are you after a tractor mounted flail or a self propelled one?

Looking good Nath! Have you rebuilt the engine?

They would go mad if it was the lawn!! It's an old pig pen that my mum wanted turning over and then cultivating so she can seed it

I can't see them either? I will try to fix it tomorrow night when I am in the laptop, sorry guys!

Hi all,
I have a 12hp Briggs and stratton engine, came out of a lawnflite I think. It is 12hp and was running when removed, only missing air filter and cover. £75 or make me and offer
Also have a villiers C25 engine, removed from a barford atom as it was the incorrect engine for it. I have had it firing but that's it. It needs an exhaust and most likely a few other bits! £20 or make me an offer.
I am located in Norfolk, thanks for looking.

Hi all,
Thinning out some of my collection to allow for new arrivals so I am letting this go. I purchased it a while ago with a non-running engine so I removed it and planned on fitting the diesel engine. The diesel is a Petter AA1 and before I put it away ran very nicely. I haven't tried starting it but I am sure it will start. It is just sat on the chassis currently and not bolted down or nothing. Transmission selects all gears. Needs either new front tyres or tubes. It has a slot hitch, it is seized however. Any questions just ask. To comply with rules I am asking £350 but make me an offer as I'm not really sure what it's worth. Sorry for the poor photos, its right in the corner of the barn, if you want anymore specific photos please ask.
Collection is from Norfolk or you are welcome to arrange a courier. Like I said make me an offer, worst I can say is no

Hi all,
As some of you may know I am quite keen on barford atoms and have a few now. It always intrigued me as to how many there were around and what ones have survived so I have been searching around for a registry, similar to something like Marks Wheel horse registry but have been unable to find one and I have been contemplating creating one. Does anyone know of any barford atom registers? I don't want to start one when there is already one created. I personally cannot find one as of yet.
Any help would be appreciated!
Kind regards,
Tom

Awesome looking Cub Cadet Chris! I really like the original look. I do like the look of the Cub cadets, do you use this one for any work?

I can only echo what has already been said, a great forum with lots of information and members who are more than willing to help. I am sure there will be many more years to come and I look forward to watching MOM grow.
