With the arrival of some new tractors I am going to sell the wheelhorse 800. I did not manage to get it running. PM me if interested.

Hi Chris, I am pretty sure the cylindrical mufflers are the original ones and drop down behind the grill
Like this i think
-
I will upload pics, I now have two sweepers
-
it looks a very strong tractor. what are your plans with it?
-
It is not quite in showroom condition, some paint missing at the back near the fuel tank, though it does come with chrome hub caps
-
I picked a wheelhorse 417-A up today from brighton general auctions. it comes with deck and also came with a sweeper. It has been stood in a garage for the last 20 years!! Only done 188hrs. quite a tidy machine, haven't had time yet to overhaul and try to start it
-
I have not not the original footrests
-
I do know the enthusiast added the foot rests, i know nothing about the grill either.

thanks for the info, in there at the moment is a kohler engine. however before the restoration there was a lombardini engine in there, i will try and get a better image of the numbers
I have made an interesting discovery, the Mf8 on the tag looks to of been changed, not sure if it is MF8 or MF&
the serial number reads 1590012581

Looks like a good worker and a strong tractor.
-
Yes, it was on eBay, it probably better than when it left the factory

I got this last week. I bought it off the second owner from the restoration, it was restored in late 2013 to an extremely high standard, one of the best i have seen, all it needs is a choke cable fitting, i was given the before pictures as well. Here are a couple of pics

Ok thanks, any particular make?

Hi guys, I have been cracking on with the restoration, got it all stripped now and chassis painted, I am looking to start the reassembly soon, just wondered if anyone new what transmission oil to use in the transmission.
-
Got it turning over this morning but no fire, looked at the spark and the spark plugs are not working, just wondered what would be the correct ones to fit.
-
OK thanks guys, hopefully I will get it running at the weekend

hopefully the picture works this time

I picked this up today. A wheelhorse 800, it comes complete with the deck, snow plough, sweeper, grass and chevron wheels and some cultivator tines. It has had an engine swap from the original 8hp kohler to a 17hp kohler. I have not had a chance to get it going but hopefully a new battery, fresh fuel and a carb clean.
I just wanted to know if this is also called the commando 800 as well as the 3 speed 800. Also do you think it is best to keep the replacement engine or find an original.
