I picked a wheelhorse 417-A up today from brighton general auctions. it comes with deck and also came with a sweeper. It has been stood in a garage for the last 20 years!! Only done 188hrs. quite a tidy machine, haven't had time yet to overhaul and try to start it
thanks for the info, in there at the moment is a kohler engine. however before the restoration there was a lombardini engine in there, i will try and get a better image of the numbers
I have made an interesting discovery, the Mf8 on the tag looks to of been changed, not sure if it is MF8 or MF&
the serial number reads 1590012581
I got this last week. I bought it off the second owner from the restoration, it was restored in late 2013 to an extremely high standard, one of the best i have seen, all it needs is a choke cable fitting, i was given the before pictures as well. Here are a couple of pics
Hi guys, I have been cracking on with the restoration, got it all stripped now and chassis painted, I am looking to start the reassembly soon, just wondered if anyone new what transmission oil to use in the transmission.
Got it turning over this morning but no fire, looked at the spark and the spark plugs are not working, just wondered what would be the correct ones to fit.
I picked this up today. A wheelhorse 800, it comes complete with the deck, snow plough, sweeper, grass and chevron wheels and some cultivator tines. It has had an engine swap from the original 8hp kohler to a 17hp kohler. I have not had a chance to get it going but hopefully a new battery, fresh fuel and a carb clean.
I just wanted to know if this is also called the commando 800 as well as the 3 speed 800. Also do you think it is best to keep the replacement engine or find an original.
