  1. Looking good, be interesting to see what ploughs best, Wheelhorse or the Bolens
  2. At the moment just to get everything working on it and fix a couple of hydraulic leaks. It will be one for the collection
  3. Managed to have a good go today at it. First thing was to see if it turns over and it did which was a good result. Next thing was to get a spark and after a quick clean on the points the spark was present. Put it all back together and turned it over, it fired but did not continue to run, must be a fuel problem I thought. After a quick investigation my thoughts were true. Got that sorted and it runs Quick play around and realized the hydraulics were not working, there was no oil, after a hunt around I managed to find enough and the hydraulics were working once again. This meant it was time for another play, this time with the loader. Overall i am very pleased with it and the hydraulics are strong. Pumped up all the tyres and found out the tears are fluid filled😀. Then this happened which stopped progress, the new tyres are on order and should be here this week hopefully
  4. Picked this one up today, Martin Markham colt deluxe. Came from over the border from Wales, long journey but definitely worth it in my opinion. I have already got the 7hp version but this one had some tempting attatchments, so I had a deal with the owner. It was from a lady who's husband had passed away about 2 months ago and she was selling it, although she liked it, she wanted to let it go to a new home. It was restored around 10 years ago ( not the best restoration) but has kept the rust away and I have been told the gearbox was overhauled which is a bonus😀. Does not run currently but going to have a go tomorrow, should not be much. As you might be able to make out it was road registered, last in 1970😬, but I have the log book and original manual. It has the loader, trailer, plough, rotovator and the rear topper, all surprisingly in good condition for there age and purpose of use. Will get some more pictures tomorrow and hopefully get it running.
  5. Managed to get the tractor running last weekend. Fun was short lived as the previous owner had made up some dodgy battery terminal clamps which short circuited on the dash, nearly setting tractor on flames😬. Went to turn the key again and nothing, so I lost my patience with it and left it for another day. That day was today and with a bit of fault finding I managed to locate the problem, the solenoid which must of burnt out. With a bit of wiring I was able to bridge the solenoid and start it up. I am very pleased with the tractor, extremely powerful and fast, must go about 20mph😳. My plan now is to sort the hydraulics on it and try and source a solenoid. If anyone has one that would be a great help ( Bosch SHSM 24L6Z 12V). Harry

    A tale of two GT's

I don't want it back. Got enough on my plate at the moment. Out of interest, what was wrong with that battery as it was brand new?

    A tale of two GT's

I have to say Nigel I did slightly regret selling it as I was one of the nicer ones.

    Mustang

Similar to a huffy that I have, looks a nice original example
  9. Looks cool, I did see one of these for sale around a year ago but was a little too much for me. Do you have the mower part as well for it?
  10. Yes that is correct, so for the one in front i can just use a standard engine oil? Thanks or that, should be a powerful beast when it fires up then, looking at the tractor as a whole, the engine looks oversized for it.
  11. Thanks Koen, I will try that at the weekend. It is definitely air cooled but just not sure about the 2 stroke part of the engine. I will try and find a manual on the engine itself as cannot find much on the tractor itself.
  12. I will look into it, I need to find the engine model to refine my internet search. Thanks guys and hopefully next weekend I can get it going
  13. Yes you probably right, it would be nice to find one for it There are three tanks, one for hydraulic oil, one for diesel and one for the two stroke oil I think. Does anyone know what oil to use for the two stroke?
  14. So I picked this up at Malvern yesterday. I bought it as I have never seen another one, it is German and powered by a JLO Diesel engine which is 2 stroke. This is an interesting set up and looks to be original apart from the alternator. From what I understand it is a vineyard tractor and this would explain the very tight turning circle. Has hydraulics and also an extra valve at the back which I have never seen on another tractor to perhaps power something like a log splitter? I have not been able to get it started yet, but looks promising as there is some smoke coming out of the exhaust, I think I need to investigate the glow plug. Any information would be appreciated on the tractor or the engine as I can find very limited information and mainly in German. Harry
  15. i tried to find you Gareth but couldn't anywhere, didn't have to much time either as I was at the auction most of the time. Now that you said you bought the yeoman I must of seen you as I was also bidding on it. I have got lots of pictures but will post them all up later as still on the way home.
  16. Looking good, I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for the show, can't wait

    Bolens HT20

Certainly looks good Andrew, I couldn't help noticing but the transmission oil filter looks like it has a hole in it? I'm sure you and Chris will have it off the pallet and up and running on Saturday
