harryt reacted to pmackellow in Starting Handle Club Show
Whilst Ian and Joseph were making the journey down South for RPT, we were heading up to Norfolk for the Starting Handle Club Summer show
We also visited some other friends in Norfolk on the Sunday before heading home, so a good weekend
The Starting Handle Club show is a great and friendly event with all classes well supported, here's some photos, including some of the items in the auction...

harryt reacted to the showman in Rural past times
Had a brilliant weekend at the show after the rain on Friday, had a good line up of exhibits and a lot made it into the arena.
I think everyone enjoyed themselves and a big thank you to everyone for your support.
Heres a few photos.

harryt reacted to HeadExam in A Second Garden Started This Week
Raising a garden isn't easy, but we managed to grow everything we need since spring. I'm working on building a greenhouse next. Lots of new plants started, 50 potato hills, 12 hill each of cantaloupe, cucumber, squash, zucchini, and watermelon. 4 rows of beans two large rows of okra. A dozen pepper and tomato plants ready to plant along with 6 to 8 of each already producing. My old Bolens and Montgomery Wards helped a bunch.

It must have been over a year since I have managed to find some tractor time and we currently do not have anything running. Instead of doing the sensible thing of looking at something that ran recently we decided to drag a tractor out of storage that last ran well over 10 years ago. It was such a long time ago I cant remember what was wrong with it and it is no good asking Joseph because he was not born then.
I really like this tractor because it is very original and has a hydraulic implement lift.
Joseph made an introduction video of the tractor
So far we have flushed the fuel tank, rebuilt the carb and fitted replacement throttle and carb cables, before we ran out of time. Hopefully I can make some time to continue with it.

I have one on the bench in restoration process and another one possibly coming soon. Other than the Montgomery Wards 2.3 Featherweight (Remington Yardmaster) they are all the lowest productions Homelite models made between 1965 and 1980

harryt reacted to 4x4forks in New Build!!! Ditch Mower
Had a nice day outside in the sun making a mower for cutting down the ditch on the side of the road.
I had made a pulpit to stand on when cutting hedges, That was made from a worn out tractor mounted , lawn brush.
I have mounted a very rusty mower deck to the side and lifted by a electric winch sat on the back.
I will take more photos when i test it

harryt reacted to Dean Jones in All the way from the USA - Panzer t70
Hi Harry. Congratulations on your USA purchase. I am not familiar with panzer tractors, but looks like a real interesting little thing and hasn't cleaned up bad at all. I too would love to have the contact details of the guy that imports them, you never know when you might need them.

I love that Panzer and the patina is just right. Will you leave it as it is or restore it? Having bought my Bolens 600 from Ohio there is something special about getting a genuine Yank GT from over the Pond.

I have wanted one of these tractors ever since I saw a picture of one online, so finally I have one
I managed to find a person who imported tractors for a living, about a year ago I asked him if he could find me a panzer. A couple of months ago he did and a deal was done, it took five weeks to cross the Atlantic Ocean from the tractor originally being sold in Illinois.
On Saturday me and Dad drove up to shropshire to collect it from his Farm. I must say I am very pleased with it. Here are some pictures.
As you can see it has had some painted applied in an odd fashion, and I knew the original paint was underneath. So a few hours of light sanding etc I managed to get the end result with a light coat of oil to make it shine.
