mine will have to go a bit further tho
  2. i think the M.A.N. looks a bit odd in blue, they should be greenish
  3. i've had another look at it this evening and when i was turning the crank with the mounted pully it struck me, i still have one of those thingies you put in a drill and put a socket on. so i made this the socket on the end goes here: now i spin it at a reasonable speed and we were able to get it to produce 3 whole volts, sound a bit week but atleast we know the genny still produces "juice" now, here's some pic's of the genny part
  4. ah i thought it was something like that just didn't know for sure, thanks
  5. if the genny part is still good then yes that's the plan, if that part is shot than i might be searching for a wheel horse to put it in
  6. got some more work done on the engine today, found out why bits of the governer were floating about in the sump. the culprit is this little piece here: that little piece was behind the big gear you see in these pics: when we got those things out we thought lets see why there is no compression so we put some oil down the bore. still no improvement so off came this piece then this piece: which doesn't look too healthy and off came this lot it soon became clear why there was such little compression, the piston rings were stuck right in the piston as can be seen here: the piston pin(is that the right word for the damn thing?) was almost completely stuck in the con rod, turns out there are a lot of burrs on there where the previous guy that worked on it hit it with something anyway time for a cuppa and a to not get too angry at that previous guy that's all for now
  7. Some bits of the regulator, took most of em out before the pic
  8. hi all, i've got myself some east german equipment. a VEB fimag generator with a VEB cunewalder diesel engine type 1 vd 8/8 sl. it doesn't run at the moment since there are some parts floating about in the sump very little compression and missing a few parts. all in all a nice project to do when i'm bored. oh and since you lot are a bit pic hungry here's some
  9. hm hm, how i would like an engnine like that! looking really good matt, gonna be a proper job like the rest of your engine's
  10. looks like there's space for the 6x6 again
  11. last year there was one for sale in the original box over in the states, think it went for somewhere round 3/4 hundred dollars
  12. i've seen that one before seems to run quite well
  13. yes yes, the stickers, the hood and fender has to be redone still(the paint got in the bondo and you can see where it is) oh and i wish this my place, i'm at my uncles farm at the moment. otherwise i'd have more than one horse
  14. so i shot a couple pictures of my horse there ya go
  15. i know, prices are wicked high for simple parts, last year i had to replace a hydraulic valve thingy on an MF, the thing costed close to a 1000 euro's
  16. oh, if you're going to do it, film it, so if it blows up spectacularly we want to see it
  17. in this case it wouldn't be named laughing gas if you put it thru that engine, it would be called crying gas, because that stuff wil wreck your engine
  18. looks very pretty, now, where did you get those chemicals? and maybe some instructions?
  19. it's the same as on redsquare basicly, but from time to time there are ads posted, i'd say post away
  20. even tho they were made in germany, they're still less expensive in the states
