Wallfish got a reaction from K-TRON in Homelite XL Tool collection
Finally found the last item I'm aware of for the collection. These Lewis winches were made for Homelite and these blue ones seem to be super rare. It's the same winch as the common orange units but the blue Homelite paint makes it a better fit for the collection.
Just need the small drive belt which the seller forgot to add in the box but is sending. Probably find a nicer power head to switch this on to as well.

Wallfish reacted to CNew in Ohlsson & Rice: 20A Outboard (Clinton Model K-150)
Making progress... Still have some more sections of paint to remove before I can start prepping it for paint. I’m also going need to fabricate a bracket for the tank I’m going to use. I’m also going to need to do some repair work on the bracket that mounts the engine to the boat. It was broken in half. Cast aluminum is always fun to try to mend...

Well I think I will let that j engine sit on the shelf. I will get that plate done and on its way soon. Clint is going to be in SC next week and he is stopping buy on the way threw. I will send the brackets with him. They might be like the gaskets thew we may never see them again
They will be on the way soon.

Enjoyed talking with you too. My wife is the same way. I just tell her she needs a hobby then she won't care. LoL
Looks great! And thanks again for your help.
And you might as well just send me that little NOS engine too!

I’m afraid this is about as clean as this shroud is going to get without messing up the paint. If it was metal I might go after it a bit more but seeing it’s fiberglass I’m going to play it safe.

Here’s where I’m at so far. Not too bad after some soak time in citrus degreaser and a ton of scrubbing.

Wallfish got a reaction from factory in This weeks project
I should have a soup can tank bracket if you need one. I still owe ya!
IMO they look better without the plastic cover. But if it does have one, it's good to keep it original.
Only the early covers have the threads on the covers. The majority will have the threads on the plates and the screw heads facing the recoil. Mustang style chainsaws have the threads on the tank and the cover and plate don't have threads.

I'm sure I've posted this service bulletin somewhere here before;
Don't say you weren't warned.

You can see it in these pics. Yellow outboard in the middle of my display. I can get some close ups.
I'm with Clint, the soup can would probably look better but...

Wallfish got a reaction from CNew in Big O&R display
So Jim (usedtoolman) and I got together Saturday at a local antique engine show (Straw Hollow) and displayed part of our O&R collections together. I think Jim had around 20 tools and I had about 25. Both of us have more than this but it's just way too much hassle to bring everything. Who knows, maybe one day we can do a bigger one with everything we have.
Jim's much nicer display! He has some really nice stuff.
And my crappy display. No pics of my ugly mug!
And kind of a shot of both
And here is some other stuff that was at the show

Wallfish got a reaction from CNew in Water cooled glow engine
Unfortunately this engine does not have that rotary valve but still have 2 more engines to check.
Received a box of NOS Octura parts and I already have a radio and servos somewhere. Now to find nice old vintage boat to power up.

Wallfish got a reaction from CNew in Speedy Sprayer
Found this compressor and engine but it's obviously not the Orline style. Came with a paint gun too
It's missing the engine mount but I'm thinking this might have been an electric motor model. IDK
Wondering if @JUST O&R Terry is up for the challenge of making a motor mount?
-
Wallfish reacted to JUST O&R in Did ya ever have one of these days? Hard start
Well I see he did a pretty good job on the recoil. just needs a little carb work or maybe a seal or two.

Wallfish got a reaction from factory in Orline Cutoff saw
Terry @JUST O&R the metal man hooked me up with a blade guard for the saw. Couldn't wait to install it and it looks great. Thanks again !
-
Wallfish got a reaction from JUST O&R in Orline Cutoff saw
I was looking at that but when holding it up to the saw, the guard opening is centered when it's on the outside, plus there's less places to deflect sparks and collect dust so I assumed it might go on the outside.
Was wondering how long it would take the factory correct police to catch me! Not long, I'm a horrible criminal
