I'm guessing your wife doesn't know you bidding on machine while your on your honeymoon That's a cool find James, it looks ideal for a banking mower, it does look quite low to the ground.. A "Mow Rider"?
  2. Evening chaps, the saga of Garry's trike continues with yet more work, this time sorting out the wiring.. It didn't take long to remove the seat, fuel tank and fairing to get a better look at the wires.. So why were we sorting the wiring out? These photo's should tell you why.. a real horror story to say the least! Yes that is household cable that has been used to wire in the brake light switch! To make life easier Garry had bought a replacement loom from a certain auction site.. As it turned out the seller couldn't tell his elbow from a wiring loom and sent one for a year newer model.. Which meant of course that none of the plugs were the same.. To make it work everything electrical would have to be swapped over from the new model (which as it happens is the same model I broke up for Project "Why Not") including the engine!! So until the correct loom turns up the best we could do was repair the old one!.. But everything now works bar the indicators but that's due to a knackered relay. Garry also spotted something interesting.. Yes that is only one strand of wire holding the end on the clutch cable!! This time though a newer cable did fit. By this time the heat was starting to take effect The fairing with it's built in lights was replaced with something a lot less bulky And the final photo as I forgot to take any pic's from the front
  3. Having had a play on Nigel's mig welder the other day, all I can say is...... I need to get a good mig welder and stop using the gassless wire! At long last some progress has been made on the 6x6.. The inner axle mount was boxed in and fully welded up yesterday.. Middle wheel and outrigger bolted back on. The troublesome sprocket that kept sheering off the axle was given a good talking to by the arc welder on full blast.. It should be strong enough now but I will run some extra beads on today just to make sure.. I won't have much time today to get much more done (Garry's trike rewire take 2), but if I can find where I hid my key steel away I hope to get the chains and other sprockets installed..
  4. Thanks Nigel, I await to hear
  5. A 16 Liter V8 eh.. Now there's a thought No harvesting happening here yet, but I did spot a Claas combine driving past Nigel's workshop the other day..
  6. I've no idea Sten I'm afraid, but it does look a sturdy machine.. I'm sure one the guys who has more knowledge than me on these machines will know what it is..
  7. Thanks guys, I wish I had an update for you but I don't as the search is on yet again for another rear axle..! But I have thought of a use for the quad axle though.. well bit's of it.. If I chop the ends off including driveshafts, fit an extra bearing in the end and weld on a strong bit of bar... It's a good start at front wheel hubs with brakes.... It's just a thought..
  8. On display and proud of it Nice one Charlie
  9. Yep, that's right, the mill thingy I bought only a very little while ago is up for grabs.. Why?? Well, two reasons... It's not quite what I really needed/wanted for a milling machine and shouldn't of really bought it... And, I need the money to put into Project "Why Not" to get yet another rear axle Does it work? Everything turns as it should.. I've not tried the electric motors yet as the wiring is a bit old looking and needs replacing.. I should get that sorted and try them really.. How much???? Millions would be nice, but I will settle for what I paid for it £75 Is it heavy?? Very The main part of it needs two people to lift it, but it does fit quite nicely in a wheel barrow Am I going to be glad to get the floor space back it's taking up and forcing me to keep on of my herd outside???? You bet your 'orse I am Do I have any photo's of it???? Yep, look below Am I ever going to stop starting sentences with a question??????? Yes, about now I think
  10. Nice work Charlie, it looks the part.. As Nigel mentioned you might want to add some weight to it to help it dig in
  11. One Wh is never enough, glad the urge to get another one got the better of you Daniel The 312 is a great work horse and will serve you well

    Cub Cadet 128

That looks a very clean machine Paul, nice find As much a Wheel Horse freak as I am, I wouldn't mind one of those in my fleet
  13. The dozer blade is looking good Chris, the small "legs" to hold the blade up are a nice touch
  14. That's just the sort of thing I need, a 12 volt hedge cutter.. Plug it into a Wh, cut the hedge and let all the trimmings fall in a trailer behind
  15. The dumper looks a very handy bit of kit to have.. Me likes
  16. How big and heavy is it Ben? If the seller is willing to wrap it a bit it can be quite cheap to get stuff shipped about the country as I found out with the quad axle
  17. I'm all up helping out for a very good cause, count me in We look forward to meeting you Andrew, it's going to be a great show.
  18. Congrats James hope you both had a great day

    Arun table saw

That's a very stylish way of cutting log Neil, it would be good to see a video of the bench in action. It looks very well made.
  21. Thanks Guy's, thought you might like it It's won't Norm, just the wheel type cutters. Thanks Koen, it's very close to a Flexispeed mill in looks, but I don't think it is one.. I did think of PTO power for it Neil, not idea in a workshop but could make an interesting show display Thanks for the lathes link Richard, that will keep me busy for a few hours looking through You don't fancy swapping it for your vertical mill do you ? Thought not Yes I will be putting a new belt on it before it's fired up, I need to rewire the motor for peace of mind as well, the cable does look very old! Hi Ben, the fun part is it weighs so much!! Getting it up to bench level is going to be interesting!
  22. The lip seals could be handy when I'm hammering it sideways across a muddy field Spot on Koen Nothing new to report on "Why Not", so have a little video to pass the time
