nigel reacted to Chris in Bolens 1886
Thought I would have a problem! It kept hunting today & did not want to respond well to ajustments
So I took the jets etc out of the old carb body as they had done less work, cleaned them up & fitted them. Got more responce now.
We will see how it runs when its under load with the deck, which is the next to sort

nigel reacted to Stormin in Ransoms.
Had run over to an old friend who is a bit of a Ransom addict. Well more than a bit. 11 at the last count and a goodly collection of various implements. Unfortunately they were all tucked away. But a few photo's for you.
He's had a look at MoM, so hopefully he will come along and tell us about them.

nigel reacted to bowtiebutler956 in I was followed home by a Case 444!
Hello all. I haven't been around for awhile now, because I had to go out of town for a week, and then it took me over a week to get caught back up with work. Everything is now back to normal, and I was able to get back to work on my 444. I got the new travel control with built in holding valve installed. ( see pics in my previous post). I also installed a FCV (flow control valve) on it. I had to make a couple brackets to keep the hoses from rubbing on things, and a heat shield for the exhaust, to protect the bypass hose from the heat, but overall it was a very straight forward installation. I had to cut a section of the footrest out for hose clearance too.
I can't believe what a difference these modifications made to my 444. I can now set a good, slow, powerful ground speed when tilling, which makes it so much more enjoyable. I've already had it tilling, and it works great! I'll try, and get another video up soon. Thanks

nigel reacted to the showman in Wheelhorse (old stock cleaned up)
Had this Raider 10 for a while, last time it ran was at Ardingly last year, its been grazing on the patio uncovered ever since.
I put some new points in it and then had to renew the petrol pipe, charged up the battery and she jumped into life, had a drive round the garden chased by Lily for a hour. Had some new decals in stock (not the right one's) but tarted it up, a quick spray with red diesel and a few photos to put it on e##y

Got the very heavy engine back in today. My poor back!!!
With the parts I have robbed off my spare engines, I hope this should be a good unit. At least with a good cowl on the front, it will now keep cool as thold one had rotted out with the mouse nest!
