Teak oil on the handle yesterday, brought it up a treat...

They're rated at 3/4 to 1 HP. All the engines, except for the VERY early models, have the same bore. Other small changes gained the HP from 3/4 to 1. They are decaled at 3/4, .85 and 1 HP.
 
The trigger on this drill does not control the speed. Engine runs at a governed 6300 rpm all the time and the trigger is the on/off switch.

Bolted the exhaust etc back on today & filled the rear end up with fresh ATF & new filter
 
Got fuel up to the pump & with a few cranks, away she went. With a few carb ajustments it seems to run OK
 
Will refit the fender & seat etc tomorrow & take it for a test drive. Cant wait

SATURDAY JUNE 21ST   Event at Tugwell Playing field, Hampden Park, Eastbourne that we have been asked to bring some machines along to, this is right on Steve D's doorstep so the OTA Monarch will be getting an outing
 
 
SUNDAY JULY 27TH   The Lavender Line at Isfield are celebrating the relaunch of their DEMU Thumper unit back into traffic in its new paintjob, we were asked this morning if we could support the day with some machines as they loved our display there in March

Oh yes sorry Steve Stone Cross Nurseries as well, a good little event that we supported in numbers last year, we will be in Yorkshire for this years event but I'm sure Steve and some of the local boys and girls will keep the flag flying

Below are some photo's of the traction engine built by my late father.
 
  It's an M.E. 1" scale traction engine designed by Henry Greenly and built by my father in 1946/47. My mother said it took him 18 months. Home from work, dinner then shed. I sometimes wonder how I got born.
  I haven't a clue how to run it and if memory serves, it hasn't run for 50 years. It will need pressure testing etc before it does. As to value?

A few hours later.......... All reassembled after finishing stripping and priming the air shroud, recoil housing and air filter case. Very pleased to report we now have a good strong spark, so hopefully it will now run!
