nathanwhittaker 50 #151 Posted October 17, 2014 Would a length of copper be ok or would I be best running it down something
Stormin 4,458 #152 Posted October 17, 2014 With a metal pipe of any type, vibration could be a problem. Rubber fuel pipe would be best. You could run it through another tube for protection. Ie the corrugated type electricians use.

Rocboni 257 #154 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) My MG5 is just copper pipe ran underneath and fixed in a few places by bent over metal tags, one being one of the final drive case bolts, and engine mounts, I believe this is original, I never replace the pipe, it came with it. Think it's 1/4" bore but may be wrong. Will be doing my MG6 the same. See Edited October 18, 2014 by Rocboni
nathanwhittaker 50 #155 Posted October 18, 2014 Well ive done my fuel pipe today, most of it is in copper but ive had to do the last bit in rubber due too needing some more fittings. Ive also managed to get some videos took off the exhaust but I think im going to have to redo it and pack it tighter as its blowing bits of material out. http://youtu.be/U44Q-LRPy2c http://youtu.be/WgCX2f3F-e4 http://youtu.be/pC1TGktVGdg 1 diggerjames reacted to this

Ian 2,417 #157 Posted October 20, 2014 The exhaust sounds good Nathan, it looks like it's foaming at the mouth when it's blowing the exhaust stuffing out
nathanwhittaker 50 #158 Posted October 20, 2014 Haha I know what u mean there I think I'm going too do it again but pack it tighter then weld a piece of mesh in too hold it tight then it shunt be able too move at all and should stop the foaming lol

nathanwhittaker 50 #160 Posted November 19, 2014 Just a small update. After fitting the fuel tank and filled full of expensive water ie petrol. The next day I went down and the tank was empty what I was not very happy about. Me and Sam rubbed the tank down and found that the bottom was totally corroded. Me and James tried too weld it but with no joy so I've ordered a new tank for her

slf-uk 914 #163 Posted November 21, 2014 What safety precautions did you take with the welding? It sound like you might have got James to do the welding while you waited outside
nathanwhittaker 50 #164 Posted November 21, 2014 He always says his welding is better so it's his own fault lol after the 2nd bang we filled it full of water

Ian 2,417 #167 Posted November 21, 2014 I tend to use the "roll up some paper, stick it in the tank, light it, and run" technique
