the showman 4,074 #1 Posted February 11, 2015 Had to buy a Commando 8 engine off the well known auction site, but the seller had another listing of spare parts, just seemed silly to go all that way and not buy both listings. Had a look in the boxes and this is what I found Don't know what the wheels are from, and there's some strange heads 4 slf-uk, Ian, nigel and 1 other reacted to this

pmackellow 2,738 #5 Posted February 11, 2015 Good haul Mr Showman, looks like the remains of a Lawn Ranger seat in third photo, that could be handy then...
neil 524 #6 Posted February 11, 2015 Ah ,so you bought that engine then , I was looking at that one too , some good spares on the engine.
the showman 4,074 #7 Posted February 11, 2015 Sorry Neil, I'll do some photos of the engine tomorrow and an unexpected special surprise that the owner had laying in his shed. It just shows that you never know what's going to turn up 1 neil reacted to this
ranger 373 #8 Posted February 11, 2015 Those wheels look like they could have saved Ian a fair bit of time on the lathe for the front of "Why Not" :P

slf-uk 914 #11 Posted February 12, 2015 I was watching that engine too, but I got disracted by other activity and forgot to bid. I liked the fact that it also had the belt cover for the dynastart. I am pleased it went to a good home.
the showman 4,074 #12 Posted February 12, 2015 Managed to get the other bits out of the van and here's a few photos 5 meadowfield, nigel, Triumph66 and 2 others reacted to this
Stormin 4,458 #13 Posted February 12, 2015 I think that deck has had it. Needs a new or rebuilt shell at least. The plough looks sound apart for the missing bit at the back. New bar will fix that.
the showman 4,074 #14 Posted February 12, 2015 I'm Sure I can repair the deck, it's easy shapes to fabricate,it's a1969 36 inch made in Belgium and the Blade is a 1968 42 inch made in South Bend. Very pleased with it all and as I said a surprise to find it 2 pmackellow and nigel reacted to this
neil 524 #15 Posted February 12, 2015 Great find chris , the blade looks in great condition ,is the blade for a short frame tractor?
the showman 4,074 #16 Posted February 12, 2015 That's a good point Neil, i'll have to have a measure up tomorrow, if you remember I have already got a spare frame
Ian 2,417 #17 Posted February 12, 2015 That's a nice haul Chris, shame you didn't get it a few weeks back, those red wheels look like they would bolt to Why Not's front hubs.. Could of saved me loads of work
meadowfield 1,900 #18 Posted February 12, 2015 Awesome haul Chris!
neil 524 #19 Posted February 13, 2015 Going by the angle of the pics Chris , the frame looks to be a short frame blade for short frame tractors , which would coincide with the engine that you got as the dyno start engines were only on the short frame tractors '1966 to 1968 . If that is the case then I would say it's an extremely rare dozer . Great find mate
the showman 4,074 #20 Posted February 13, 2015 Made a mistake with the dozer blade, just looked the number up on the toro site and its a 1975 42 inch
